Passed unanimously.
This bill is personal. I grew up in Bethel with Emily Todd, and her story continues to shape my work.
For too long, we havenāt had a clear way to track how domestic violence cases move through our system, from arrest, to charging, to sentencing. That makes it harder to understand outcomes and where we need to do better.
This legislation takes a step toward fixing that by creating a path for a uniform way to track cases across agencies, so we can have real transparency and accountability.
Yesterday was also Denim Day, a reminder that we stand with survivors and that our responsibility is to strengthen systems that too often fall short.
More work ahead. But this matters.
For Emily. For survivors.
Today, I helped lead debate on the House floor and we passed legislation to modernize Connecticutās fertility coverage laws.
For too long, people have paid into coverage they couldnāt access because our laws were outdated and didnāt reflect how families are formed today. This bill helps change that, including for single women, families using donor embryos/gametes, LGBTQ couples, and those who need medical intervention from the start.
Proud to help move this forward after months of work. On to the Senate.
