Scrolling is a sonic journey built from fragments extracted from Instagram reels: interrupted voices, compressed rhythms, exposed intimacies instantly forgotten. These samples are transformed and reassembled into a continuous flow, without beginning or end, mirroring the gesture that generated them.
The work explores scrolling as a perceptual state rather than a digital practice. A suspended time shaped by scattered, overstimulated attention, where the body remains still while the mind keeps moving. Listening takes place inside a bubble: a condition of networked individualism in which one is constantly connected yet profoundly alone.
Sounds surface and dissolve without resolution. Nothing settles, nothing endures. Repetition does not produce meaning, but habituation. Scrolling conveys the sensation of an apathetic wakefulness, of presence without engagement, of endless transit without arrival.
Rather than representing social media, the piece makes their effect audible: a stream of micro-sonic events sliding into one another, forming an unstable, hypnotic soundscape.
