We won "BEST ORIGINAL SCORE" at @mansfieldtownfilmfestival
There were loads of amazing shorts there, so to play alongside them was an honour.
Well done to the team, it was a lovely weekend full of film, festivities and lovely people - keep it up guys and we'll see you next year!
The only down side, was us trying to blag/pitch a holiday didn't work - so we'll have to pay for that ourselves 😅
And, of course, a huge congrats to Mike and Dave Mooney for their work on the score.

And so it begins!
The first selection of the festival run and in the very same patch of land where Lazar was filmed no less!
We've loved seeing @mansfieldtownfilmfestival grow from strength to strength, gaining such a great reputation in such a short period of time and it's an honour to be selected for the "Unhinged and Unearthly" section (July 26th 8-9:30)
We're honoured to have been selected in the Mansfield Town Film Festival and it's the perfect way to kick off the festival run for Lazar.
We'll be attending hoping to soak up all the great vibes and information that Mansfield Town Film Festival has to offer.
Hopefully, we continue this momentum and see our fabulous actors @joseph.emms.actor@devon_juniorr faces on a bunch more big screens!

3 years culminated into 18 minutes and 14 seconds!!
Last night was amazing, we saw Lazar in front of a packed out audience in a huge cinema and it went down a storm.
Its been such a crazy process, from when we started we decided we wanted to write a script that we couldn't make but wanted to write.
Cut to a year and a bit later and we were crewing up with some incredibly ambitious, crazy, and talented people.
Cut to another half a year later, we're getting shot at with rifles while trying to film and then the next day filming at 1am in a literal thunderstorm.
Cut to a year after that, and we literally got the final export the day before the premiere/screening.
The cast, the crew, the people with rifles shooting at us. It's been amazing.
And now we embark upon the festival run.
I cant express my gratitude to those who made this happen.

"A few more minutes, please" - the story goes that as @dylanscott.mov and @betsyfsheil were thinking "who the heck could we get to do a dodgy french lobster voice", a flash of inspiration waved over them both, simultaneously they looked at each and exclaimed: Rafe Bird.

Anyway, here's my new headshot, since this is the highest profile short I've been in (absolutely CLEARING UP at huge festivals). I think it's the best photo of me in years.
I'm genuinely honoured to lend my voice to this cute ass little lobster, in a short that has an important message, told with style and finesse with some of the finest minds of 'regional England'.

The theatre darling!
A lovely bit of new writing from Jack Cornes, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the battle of Monte Cassino.
This was such a great play and a humbling experience, we toured some unusual but very welcoming venues and had great audiences with people who had family members who had fought in this battle (which I hadn't heard of before this project!).
Big thanks to my fellow actors and our fearless leader! I look forward to our paths crossing again.

'Leviathan' directed by @jamesarmansell written by Bradley Harper - a great short film/proof of concept based on the book "knife in the fog".
I'm very lucky in my career to say that I am constantly surrounded by people who are so skilled at what they do;
I couldn't have asked for better scene partners to play with, they absolutely smashed it and the scenes felt like they worked.
The director and writing time were incredible, they were there to talk through ideas and try things out but had a clear vision of how this piece would work.
The crew were obviously great, I mean look at the stills, from cinematography to set design everything was under control.
This is just the ones of me being selfish and popping my face
up - more of these to come!!
