This Saturday at Système we celebrate 3 years of the current iteration of Armable, but in a previous life Armable operated as an online radio based out of Santiago, Chile. The project, led by @cordltx @vigliensoni and @dedosmuertos, began in 2007 and ran until 2009, consisting of a 24-hour broadcast combining a rotation of both new and old tracks with a diverse lineup of resident shows.Digging through the archives, we were able to recover some material offering a glimpse of what was an ambitious, punk, fully DIY project, but also perhaps not fully understood at the time.[1] The original Armable logo[2] The website[3] An excerpt from an episode of Claudio Fernández’s show “Ruidos Locos”, where he mic’d up a gas delivery man on a tricycle in his beloved Valparaíso. Doo’s amphibian promises long, driven, loopy grooves that sit on the quirkier end of the spectrum.Aram // Whether it’s a rave on the Voie Maritime or a makeshift DJ booth on top of Plongeoir’s pool table, the Zamalek brewer makes no distinction and just keeps it burning. Approaching its fifth edition, the festival has become a gathering point for artists and dancers from across Canada, featuring diverse lineups that explore various corners of alternative dance music.Independent DIY festivals occupy a shrinking space in an ecosystem dominated by the likes of Superstruct and Live Nation. This forest-dwelling creature excels in atmospheric groovers that draw from various genres and influences, and has become one of the city’s most precious exports.Some say DJ Spence only listens to music through the Discogs youtube player. The Doo label co-head sits right in that sweet spot where obscure meets danceable. 013 takes us to Prince Edward Island, land of potatoes, heavy a$$ beats, and Liftkit.This duo, composed of producers Willow Bell and Alexandra O’Sullivan, has been the Maritimes’ best-kept secret until recently. A regular feature in the region’s most iconic raves (cc @exploriasound ), Liftkit is the synthesis of influences from their years in Montreal, a love for machines, and a hands-on approach to music.Their performance at @mutekmontreal this year has propelled the project toward exciting new endeavours, and this Radio Armable instalment showcases their current palette of sounds along with some much sought-after unreleased material.Link in bio.

O’eleven on the Radio Armable mix series is a treat from our beloved Google Maps guide, DJ, producer, and audio engineer @ranmaentero. Sergio is an artist with a unique and ambitious vision; whether through his own productions or his work as the co-founder of @wavawava, he is constantly seeking innovative ways to transmit art, always embracing unconventionality and a feeling of togetherness. This community-oriented approach to music resonates with us on many levels, and to have Sergio provide us with an hour of delicately-picked flavours is an out-and-out privilege
