Finally, Radio Achkhoti goes to Yerevan! Today, yours truly, Donna Kebab, turns 30 — and we’re heading to Armenia to reunite once again and throw our very first soirée in the city to celebrate the occasion. If you’re in Yerevan this Saturday or paid for the Wi-Fi — we invite you to spend the evening with us at @backyard.yvn café or join online. As usual, expect a musical kaleidoscope with occasional puns and conversations in the finest traditions of our organization. As for the tunes: we’re bringing you some good old hip-hop from @nikita_martyanov and @aston_martian ; jokes and city-pop gems from @arcadiium ; and @iam_donnakebab herself with a very romantic collection. @roumoulianed will bring local music rarities and share a few thoughts on preserving music history, while @nickstolyarov will provide the soundtrack for a hedonistic session full of funk, spice, and groove. And of course, we wouldn’t be ourselves without @gnida3000 and a special house-powered, dance-your-feet-off experience — the perfect way to disappear into the capital’s five-star night.

A message from our editor and a truly bedroom DJ who has recently become a fresh-off-the-boat dissident, and had to leave Georgia for a reason you are all too familiar with Dear listeners! On our first business trip to Paris a year ago, we recorded a special episode of Radio Achkhoti’s most erratic (and slightly erotic) show: ‘very romantic collection’, an anthropological exploration of sensual and sensitive moments we live through, the embarrassing stories born out of them, and the music that accompanies these intimate situations. This was the first episode that we recorded in English, at 10 AM on the last day of the trip, while we were still sleepy and sober. It’s rather long and somewhat clumsy and awkward, but truly sincere - just like us. Perhaps that’s why it took me a year to post it. But after being away from Tbilisi for two months, I realise that it’s about time to re-listen to this rambling recorded in the so-called most romantic city in the world (not really), and reconnect with our dear crew, who have helped each other to stay sane over the past 2 years and supported one another through the most unromantic times. As always, you can expect a selection of the best bossa, soul, jazz, R&B and, of course, a couple of cheeky house music records. Just skip the chit-chat if you only want Marvin Gaye in your ears. This Sunday, we would like to invite you to the after-party at @eleven.window café to celebrate the opening of Harry Harry’s @daypolotence “I’m So Sorry” exhibition by @scorcher.gallery , which is happening at the newly renovated CCA @cca_tbilisi this Friday. Visual art and sounds will join the forces once again to have a little multimedia boogie just like the finest art on the walls of some fancy European Biennale. Imagine yourself on the bank of a Venetian canal playing gallerista and all that, with a glass of red in one hand and a glass of white in the other mixing the perfect rosé to get just the right amount of drunk. Though this is Tbilisi, and it we’re ain’t no fancy galleristas (yet).
