Dear Radiant ☀️ We did it, friends! Between all of the schedule changes, last minute additions, late practices, and the mad scramble at the end to finish things off, this quarter was really challenging. But each and every one of you showed up and through a combination of passion, determination, and love and support for your teammates we managed to pull off a set that everyone can be incredibly proud of. Seriously, we had no business looking that good, but we did it anyway. We really put our whole ✨Radiantussy✨ into that performance. We even had people we didn’t know coming up to us saying that ours was their favorite!!! We simply want to say thank you. Thank you for bearing with us while we navigated in organizing the team. Thank you for continuously bringing good vibes and dumbfuck energy to practices, even when we were all dying. And lastly, thank you for trusting us to lead this team. It is because of you that we were able to not only build a team, but a family as well. We are so proud of you. Here’s to many more days spent griddying, burping/pissing/shitting, dealing drugs, booty shaking, disappearing into Luskin to chug gasoline, doing dainty little spins, protecting our furry friends, looking respectfully at “ONE” armpit shot, directing goodly, cucking Jackie, and creating many more precious memories together! Thank you @foundationschoreo for inviting us to perform at their spring showcase, Zenith! This past quarter, we learned how to do the splits (safely), hit the griddy (only dani), and nutted (on irises). Oh yeah, and we made our first set performance! Huge shoutout to all our friends and family for coming out to support us, and an even bigger shoutout to @kissmesone for choreographing our closer! Hello everyone! After another successful quarter we’re looking for new friends to join our team! Radiant is a low weekly commitment, UCLA based project team open to all skill levels with a focus on fun and dance education. We aim to provide a supportive, comfortable environment that encourages growth and builds community. This spring we will be building a set for a performance and a concept video! Practices are every Sunday from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Our first practice will be on 4/16 in Lot 8. If you are on the fence, feel free to come to our first practice before making your decision! Huge shoutout to Al “AdoboLock” Ang and his assistant Nikko “Almond Joy” Almonidovar for coming in to share their love and knowledge of locking with us! AdoboLock has been a locker for over 6 years and is the cofounder of Funktion Point! Recently, he has been involved in helping found LA Locking Lab, a collaboration between Let’s Lock and Funktion Point “to cultivate locking foundations and self-expression.” Nikko has been locking for over a year now. He recently moved to LA and has been heavily involved in the locking, freestyle, and battling scenes. Previously he directed PASO Modern in Bakersfield. Hello everyone! We hope you all enjoyed our first concept video (if you haven’t seen it go check it out @radiant.dance )! With our first successful quarter under our belt, we are looking to expand our scope and grow our team! Radiant is a low weekly commitment, UCLA based project team open to all skill levels with a focus on fun and dance education. We aim to provide a supportive, comfortable environment that encourages growth and builds community. This winter we will be making two concept videos and will have multiple guests coming in to lead workshops in a variety of styles! Practices are once per week on Saturday/Sunday for ~3 hours. The exact date and time each week is based on everyone’s availability. Our first practice will be on 1/21 from 7-10 PM in Lot 8. If you are on the fence, feel free to come to our first practice before making your decision. Our Bad Habits lead to dancing in parking lots, random freestyle in costumes, and many nights staying out way too late on our after practice food runs. Today we are proud to finally reveal Radiant’s first concept video! It turned out better than we ever could have imagined thanks to all of the hard work our dancers put in throughout the fall, many of whom are working full time or are full time students with other large commitments. We would also like to give a massive shoutout to @exvelasco for making time in his extremely packed schedule to come out and do the filming and editing for us. What you are seeing today would not have been possible without him.
