It didn’t take long for me to get into this book - it was a good one. I appreciate the balance of humor, romance, and mystery within such a dark situation. It was an interesting plot while still feeling cozy. I think it being YA was the perfect age group but I still enjoyed it as a thirty year old. I gave this a four star on @the.storygraph and @pagebound.co .

Thank you to @gallerybooks for an honest review in exchange for a book! I loved this so much. I related a lot to Gemma‘s experience and made some of it a bit emotional to me (in a good way!). I also work for a mental health facility and reminded me how many people have been affected similarly.
I loved the mix of memoir and graphics and felt that was done well. I gave it 4.5 stars on my StoryGraph and Pagebound and the only reason I didn’t do five stars was that the jump from present to past sometimes felt clunky. Despite that, obviously, I would totally recommend this one.

In Anxietyland cartoonist, writer, and long-time-anxious-person, Gemma Correll takes us on a riotous journey through her struggles with anxiety, to the desperate search for relief and finally to the realization that it really is possible to feel OK again. Because sometimes all that’s left to do when you’ve tried every possible remedy you can imagine is laugh.

I am struuuuggling on what to bring with me traveling. I should probably narrow it down but I’m worried I’m going to change my mind by the time I get there 😅 second picture is what I’m bringing on the plane, the first picture is what I’m thinking of packing… any you think are ones I should definitely pack? If you check my bio, you can go to my booktube and watch my May hopefuls and see if any of those should be brought (they’re not all in this stack).

One of my local libraries had a “grown up book fair” today with some local vendors and indie bookshops around town! It was a great time and ended down the street at a fries and ice cream shop where I had dill pickle and ranch waffle fries 😋

First off, thank you to @lucyashe_author@unionsqandco and @getredprbooks for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review of this book! Though I have a couple chapters left to finish up today, I feel fully comfortable recommending this one. Given how beat up it already looks, you know I enjoyed it because I couldn’t put it down.

1960s, London: A former fashion model, feeling lonely and neglected by her new husband, begins seeing a therapist with questionable motives and soon falls under his sway…
📌 see the pinned comment for full summary
I love a book with psychology and/or mental institutions (this one is just psychotherapy) so I was immediately drawn to it with it also being a bit a thriller. It was cool being in the mind of an obsessive/dependent patient and her psychotherapist who may or may not be blurring the line of the relationship. I was captivated and interested in hearing what brought the main character to where she’s at, how her past messes with her future, the fantasy’s she’s having, as well as what the therapist is going to do with that info.
If you’re a thriller or suspense fan, if you’re into a historical read (this takes place in the 60s), and/or if you’re into psychology and the mind, I would totally recommend this.

I, as you can see, am a big fan of my local libraries! I’m thankful to be in a city that has a few libraries so I have lots of choices (and they deliver to each other if I want to get them all at one place). I really like physical books but obviously get a lot of use from @libby.app and @hoopladigital with their audiobooks!
This year I’m keeping track of money saved by reading through the library to show how helpful it can be - especially if you’re dnf’ing something.
Also… if you’re double checking my math, I’m sorry if I added something wrong for the total at the end. Money saved is going off of Amazon pricing since I can see audiobooks and physical copies there. When buying, though, I tend to do used or indie.
❓Do you utilize your library? What are you reading? What’s an upcoming release you’re looking forward to?

Thank you so much to @kristasandorauthor for gifting three of her novels to my @littlefreelibrary . I’m excited to get them out there and see them move around!
See the comments for info on each book!
❓What’s your favorite romance trope? Or if you’re not a romance reader, what’s your favorite genre? I’m more of a thriller and horror reader now but am reading more romcoms too within the last year or so and really like grumpy x sunshine and fake dating!

Thank you bunches to @katerockliteraryservices and @richard_kirshenbaum for this addition to my @littlefreelibrary ! I was able to get it into the box, take a pic, and enjoy the weather for a bit before it started raining (Iowa’s weather is moody!!)

I had to jump on this trend after seeing it a handful of times throughout the last week. I can’t remember where I first saw it but I got the link for the quiz from @justanotherbooklady 💖 I love stuff like this - has me going back to early 2000s when I would do personality quizzes all the dang time!
Having Grandpa Joe be in there killed me 😂
Let me know if you want to do it to and I can send the linkaroooo. There’s a few options of how many questions you want to do and the one I chose (recommended + emoji I believe is what it was) only took me a few minutes.
❓were you a fan of personality quizzes? If you took this one, who was your top match? Mine is in descending order so we started with Tina at 88% and Damien at 84% .
