Lee Christian’s first gig in an oxford venue for a decade! How is it that this is the first time @leechristagram has played @klub_kakofanney ? 🤯🤷‍♂️ time will be made up for when The Prohibition Smokers’ Club bring their newest line up and set to Florence Park Community Centre on friday 5th june (the day before prince’s birthday!) with a great supporting bill of local talent from @peerlesspirates @theautumnsaints @thenobletrio too! 🎶👍 The rest of the smokers band for summer 2026 are: @thegrizzlefizzle (fronting half the set) @darrenbarleymusic (with his own showcase song) Tim Croston (meanwhile, back in communist Russia…) keyboards @ddl75 (of @toology_uk ) drums/batteria @tomclarkguitar (of @shavenprimates ) guitar Chris white (of @desertstormuk fame!) guitar Ben Richards (Of @dubwiser1love & @mog.matic ) on bass guitar. (In terms of Lee’s projects that’s members of Stroppy, piggies, the (new) rebels and the psc) Expect some reimagined covers, PSC favourites and some lee christian and grace db solo stuff too. So fun fact, I’ve never actually done open mic before. It’s always seemed like an absolutely terrifying experience - there’s something about having the support of a band that one can hide behind. Anyway, thanks to @openmicbath welcoming me and @leechristagram (thanks for filming) for pushing me up on stage, I did it. Haven’t felt that level of nerves in a long time and certainly wasn’t my finest performance, but I did I and it wasn’t horrible. Always rewarding finding cool new artists and giving them a debut release! We met @pvniktamair at @livlucemusic ’s birthday party in January talking top 5 MC’s both picking some classic, some lesser known. A few days later @leechristagram heard some recordings made for a role playing game for laughs and was immediately thinking about how to get him on a track having liked the sound of French rap since a trip to france in ‘94. Emails, thoughts, music and Star Wars jokes were shared and then Pat provided recorded the vocal at @fermeavit - lee mixed it and voila!
