**MAYOR BASS BUDGET PROPOSAL MEETING** **04.28.26** Los Angeles city Mayor Bass released her budget proposal for the 2026-2027 Fiscal Year last week. In this proposal, she chose NOT TO FUND THE TGI WELLNESS & EQUITY INITIATIVE, and instead continues to pour more of the city’s finite resources into the LAPD at a time when TGI and immigrant communities are increasingly more vulnerable. 🏳️‍⚧️ TGI WE would support TGI community organizations to continue to provide lifesaving support, increase quality of life and community connections for people who face disproportionate discrimination in access other avenues for publicly funded support. In this proposal, Mayor Bass communicates that she has no plan of supporting TGI people, HOWEVER, we still have a chance to make it on the budget before it’s finalized! 📢📢📢 ‼️ Here’s how you can help: check out the toolkit 🔗 link in our bio, let your city representatives know to add the TGI WE initiative to this year’s city budget!
