🌈LINUP ANNOUNCEMENT🌈
Expect the unexpected when Venus Mantrap, Jacklyn Lee, and Emma Batchelor hit “play” on their sharp, hilarious, and deeply engaging talks at Tuggeranong Arts Centre.
Delivering their engaging presentations through Microsoft’s most mundane medium Jacklyn Lee graduated from the University of Sydney with a degree in mathematics. Since then, they have worked in the public service (giving them a lot of experience with PowerPoint). In their spare time, they write comedy.
Samuel Townsend, the visionary force behind the drag persona Venus Mantrap, orchestrates extraordinary Canberra events that seamlessly blend cinema, pop culture, and the transformative power of drag. Venus Mantrap is an androgynous construct whose roots are firmly planted in the world of drag, exploring aspects of cabaret, performance art and comedy.
Emma Batchelor is a queer, autistic writer, performer and arts advocate from Kamberri (Canberra). For this work, Emma was also the recipient of a Canberra Theatre Centre New Ideas Lab mentorship and was selected as part of the Force Majeure INCITE program. Emma is the Chair of MARION, a board member of Stellar Company and member of the Minister’s Creative Council.
Catch these three as they take you on a captivating journey though the medium of PowerPoint.

This intriguing site-specific collaboration sees two fiercely independent queer-run Sydney organisations – Life rites holistic end-of-life care and performance platform Queer PowerPoint – team up to explore life’s biggest unknown, one slide at a time.
Queer artists from across Sydney have completed residencies at Hurstville’s Life rites funeral home, going deep on all facets of life behind the scenes – the quirks, characters, contradictions and unexpected beauty of end-of-life care. Now they’ll present their findings in trademark Queer PowerPoint style, transforming Microsoft’s most mundane product into something profound, provocative and surprisingly poignant.
A huge thank you to the tremendous turnout for Eating Out last week!
We shucked, we seasoned, we dined and we danced together in a banquet setting at Kensington Town Hall. 🦪🧂 🍽
