QUIP is so proud to be a community partner of Inside Out, and being part of this years Industry Day with this panel is everything ✨see you there 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
You finished shooting—now what? And more importantly, who? This panel pulls back the curtain on the final stages of filmmaking to highlight the immense creative power of post-production. We explore the vital importance of these collaborations and provide filmmakers with the tools to navigate this essential part of the process with confidence.
Beyond technical skills, we will discuss the importance of ensuring that your team represents your story not only in front of the lens, but behind it in the editing suite. Join us for an essential conversation on how the right post-production team can elevate your vision and honor the authenticity of queer storytelling.

“OPEN NOW - QUEERING THE SCREEN RESEARCH SURVEY
We are seeking individuals to participate in the Queering the Screen Research Survey.
This funded national survey aims to identify the key challenges, barriers, and opportunities facing 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals across all roles in the sector — from writers, directors, and producers to crew, executives, and on-screen talent.
Led by a committee of 14 2SLGBTQIA+ industry workers from across the country, and backed by Telefilm and the CMF, we are researching to be published in a report, distributed industry-wide in the new year, analyzing the current state and needs of 2SLGBTQIA+ Canadian Film and TV workers.
The survey is roughly 20-25 minutes long, offered in both English and French. Participants will be entered to win a $100 Gift Card of their choice.
Survey closes December 5th.”
Congratulations to Writer / Director/ Editor and QUIP community member Ryan Couldrey on his award-winning short film Time Eater!
Time Eater is a psychological horror film about a grandmother suffering from undiagnosed dementia who has her home invaded while she's babysitting her granddaughter. The film stars Jane Moffat, Perrie Voss and Lauren Beatty (Jane and Perrie both from Stories from My Gay Grandparents, Lauren from Gender Reveal). We are hoping to make the feature version of the film in the near future.
TIME EATER was made possible with the DGC Ontario Short Film Fund in 2024 and has been festivalling since its premiere at Brussels International Fantastic Fest in April of 2025. It's gone on to win 5 awards (Best Short at the Melies Federation fests Grossmann Fantastic and Grimmfest, Scariest Short at Hellifax, and both Audience Choice and Best Actress for Jane Moffat at Demonic Brilliance in Fredericton) and play 14 festivals, including Méliès Federations fests (BIFFF, HǑFF Haapsalu, Grossman, Grimmfest, and Razor Reel), a bunch of Canadian fests (including Terror in the Bay, Chilliwack Independent, Hellifax, Fogfest, and most recently Blood in the Snow). Its festival run continues- check instagram.com/rycouldrey for details.
