HUNTER’S MOON: A SOVEREIGN SYNDICATE ADVENTURE is finally out and in the world! The full soundtrack is also up on my Bandcamp (link in bio!) as well as streaming services ☺️ Here’s just a little mashup of some of the tracks. 💜
Big thanks to the team at Zugalu Entertainment for inviting me to collaborate on such a cool and exciting project, and for giving me so much trust and creative freedom in the process. Crafting the musical identity of this dark, yet vibrant world they’d created felt like a daunting task, but it was one I had a total blast doing, and I think I significantly levelled up my composing ability by the end of it.
Thanks as well to the team at Studio13, who did the audio design on the game and supported me on the technical side the whole way through, and also taught me a lot along the way. I’m really proud of the music system we put together in this game and how seamlessly each chapter’s music flows.
Thirdly - big shoutout to @november.composer for coming in at the 11th hour as an orchestrator to help me prep sheet music. I was working a full time job on top of scoring this game, and was way too up to my eyeballs in stress to even remotely fathom doing that myself. I highly recommend working with Grant!
Lastly, and certainly not least - thank you to the amazing musicians who performed on this soundtrack - @braxtonmusic (Clarinet and Flute), @post.cello (Cello), and @nelsonmoneo (Violin). I’m really proud of the final result and a huge part of that is the higher level your musicianship took so many of these tracks to 🙂

A little peek into a cue I wrote for the IPF-funded proof-of-concept for TABLETOP CLUB (@tabletopclubseries ), a fantasy/comedy web series in development. Check the link in my bio to watch the full teaser! ⚔️
Big thanks to @tammytsangfilm for bringing me onto yet another one of her fun and ambitious projects! Crossing my fingers it gets further funding to become a full series 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

If you have watched Potluck Ladies, you would have noticed the compelling original soundtrack by Daniela Pinto. If you haven't, then this is one more reason to!
Here is a sneak peek to her music. Swipe right to enjoy the track "Daily Lives" from Potluck Ladies!
"The musical palette of Potluck Ladies consists of mostly piano and orchestra, grounding us in the show's Western setting, but also includes splashes of South Asian instruments like tabla, dholak, sitar, and tanpura during some scenes when all the ladies are together. As an Indian woman born and raised in Canada, writing the music for Potluck Ladies gave me a unique opportunity to express my own cultural identity, which has been shaped by these two different worlds." - Daniela Pinto

This past weekend I participated in my first ever TO Jam! It’s a challenge where people try to make a simple, and usually very silly, video game in about 3 days. I signed up as an audio floater and ended up working on two different teams. Here’s a track I wrote for one of the games called “Monster Jam,” inspired by a particular genre of early 2000’s era Flash games.
I’ve tended to shy away from game jams and 48 hour film challenges in the past because I know I won’t produce my best work under those conditions. But I now realize that’s kind of the point - to turn off those self-conscious impulses that build up in us during our artistic careers, and just try to finish something, even if it isn’t perfect or overly complex. The jam was full of all kinds of people, from students to industry veterans, all coming together with that same creative mindset. It was a lot of fun, and I’ll definitely be back again next year! 😊👾🎮

Very excited to share that I’m writing the original soundtrack for the upcoming game HUNTER’S MOON: A SOVEREIGN SYNDICATE ADVENTURE, coming out later this year! And even more excited to share that there’s a demo of the game out on Steam you can play right now, featuring some of my music. If you’re a Slay the Spire girlie like me, it might be up your alley ☺️

I recently wrote music for this indie game trailer! HUNTER’S MOON: A SOVEREIGN SYNDICATE ADVENTURE is a roguelike deckbuilder RPG by Crimson Herring Studios, coming out Q4 this year on Steam, and later to consoles. 😎
My soundtrack album for JACKIE’S HAVEN is now out on all streaming platforms! 🐠 (link in bio!)
This film is about a young girl who retreats into an animated underwater fantasy world as an escape from her grief after losing her sister. It called for a score that was whimsical, majestic, at times dark, but ultimately heartfelt and uplifting. Also a fun bonus - this happens to be my first score to feature my voice! (which you can hear in tracks 1, 2, and 4)
Big thanks to the creative team for bringing me on board to help tell this beautiful story 💙

Had a great time at the Canadian Screen Awards last night ☺️ It was also great to finally meet my fellow crew members from @mybrothersoleimandoc in person! While our doc didn’t end up taking home any awards, I’m proud of what we made together. Check it out on CBC Gem if you haven’t already!

Keeping with last year’s tradition, here’s a little recap of some of the food I made in 2024! 👩🏽🍳
1) Spicy stir-fried seafood on noodles 🦑 (loosely inspired by the Korean dish ojingeo bokkeum )
2) Vegetarian Hamburg steak made from chickpeas and black beans, with fries and salad 🫘
3) my first attempt at making homemade chili crisp/oil (featuring gochugaru, garlic, ginger, and shallots), which I then proceeded to put on everything I ate for the rest of the year 🌶️
4) maple gochujang chicken legs 🍗 (if you haven’t figured this out yet, my toxic trait is that I put gochujang in everything)
5) Noodle soup from homemade broth. I usually make soups as a vehicle for leftover meat and veggies (and that homemade chili crisp!) 🍜 also dang look at how that egg turned out 😍
6) Attempt at a po’ boy type of crispy shrimp sandwich with spicy mayo and some afterthought veggies on the side. The pic sucks but it was VERY GOOD. 🍤
7) Pork chop, cut fancy with a salad on the side and a pan sauce on top (garlic, shallots, balsamic, pepper, and sage cooked in the pork drippings). I honestly prefer this to steak now 🐷
8) A comically thicc burger 🍔
9) Homemade Crunchwrap Supremes! 🌮 I forgot to get a pic of the cross-section because I practically inhaled mine 😅
10) Bento lunches featuring salmon and umeboshi onigiri, octopus hotdogs, peaches, and sliced apples with yogurt and cinnamon rolled up in tortillas 🍱 (I made a whole other post about them earlier in the summer!)
Looking forward to more culinary adventures in 2025, and maybe stepping outside my usual comfort zones even more 🥳
