Yesterday: We celebrated 5 years of Queer Ear Mastering with snails for dinner. Tara turned 43. Bowky, our studio pup, aged 2 promptly broke her first toenail. My new single 'slack' is about being overwhelmed about things that go wrong in the world, close to yourself or further away. Being on social media as a trans artist has been an overwhelming experience the last couple of weeks and to release this track today, it gives a completely new perspective on this song, that I wrote last summer. I hope you can relate and feel less alone with these kind of feelings. Sinok's instrumental album "Mutism" is out now on @anetterecords ! We are very happy to have mastered this album! Produced and Mixed by Sinok Mastered by @queerearmastering Artwork by Ricaletto "Mutism" is a thoughtful instrumental album and Sinoks homage to Hiphop the way he likes it best: sample-based, detailed and not too clean. Finding a worn vinyl on the street or at the flea market, sampling it to finally create something new - that was exactly the process of creating this LP. Sinok has been making beats for two decades for Rap artists, but the desire to make an instrumental album has been there for ages. Free from time pressure, he only wanted to use beats that create a certain feeling that is difficult to put into words. Strangely enough, some of the album tracks have been beats that rappers he showed them to weren’t that interested in anyways - either because there wasn’t enough space for vocals or because the rhythm was too strange. Making music with others always means finding compromises. "Mutism" is a very personal, uncompromising instrumental album. #sinok #mutism #masteredbyqueerearmastering
