BTV Queer Country Line Dance

Join us for our next Central Vermont Queer Line Dance! This month’s theme is In Bloom 🌷 Think flowers, florals, pastels, soft colors and anything that makes you feel like spring 🌷🌱🌿🌸 This month we’re raising funds for @madpridevt 💛 We’ll begin the evening with a mocktail mingle from 6-7pm, featuring botanical concoctions by the wonderful @theflowerhausvt 🌸 There will also be homemade Venezuelan empanadas for sale so come hungry! 🥟 The @theishtarcollective will be creating a cozy pop-up lounge in the back for anyone who wants a soft place to land between dates ✨ From 7–9pm, we’ll have guided line dancing with instruction for all levels followed by open dancing + requests. Absolute beginners are always welcome and seasoned dancers are celebrated 🌷 This is a sober, all-ages, pay-what-you-can event. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. The space is fully accessible, with an elevator, seating and a nearby lower-stimulation area for anyone who needs a brain breather 🌼 Masks will be available at the door and we kindly ask that you stay home if you’re feeling unwell. This month our theme is Queer Artists 💅🌈🤠✨ Come dressed as your favorite queer musician or anything that connects you with your inner icon. This month we’re raising funds for @tic_vt the Translating Identity Conference (TIC), a free, community-rooted gathering focused on transgender identities, education and connection. Established in 2002, TIC is one of the largest conferences in New England centered on trans lives, bringing together students, families, activists and professionals for a day of workshops, art-making and community 💛 We’ll start the evening with a mocktail hour from 6:00–7:00 pm, with drinks lovingly crafted by @theflowerhausvt . It’s a sweet chance to mingle, catch up and settle into the space. There will be Venezuelan empanadas as well as other delicacies for sale made with love by a local family so come hungry! 🥟 From there, we’ll move into guided line dancing from 7:00–10:00 pm, with instruction for all levels and time for requests throughout the night and at the end. Absolute beginners are always welcome and seasoned dancers are celebrated 🤠 This month will have a more community-led feel so if you’ve ever wanted to try leading a dance, this is your chance! ✨ This is a sober, all-ages, pay-what-you-can event. ✨ New this month: a fully masked line dance ✨ For the first time, we’re offering a fully masked line dance ahead of our regular dance, created to be more accessible to folks who need or prefer masked spaces. High-filtration masks required: KN95 / N95 / KF94 or equivalent. We encourage you to bring your own but we’ll have a few available for those in need. 😷4–6 pm: Fully masked line dance 🌸 6–7 pm: Mocktail hour 🤠 7–10 pm: Line dance as usual - masks always welcome, but not required All events take place in the same space as our regular dances. 💛 Proceeds from the masked dance will benefit the @vermont.mask.collective , supporting their work to provide masks and care to our community. This month our theme is As Country As Can Be 🤠🤠🤠 We’re talkin’ full tilt ultra country, campy, over-the-top, boot-scootin’, honky-tonkin’ with heart-on-your-sleeve energy. Dust off your denim, fringe, belt buckles, bolo ties, cowboy hats, rhinestones and anything that connects you with your inner yeehaw. This month we’re raising funds for @mosaicvermont , Washington County’s sexual violence prevention and response organization. Mosaic supports people of all genders and identities who have experienced sexual harm, while also doing deep, relationship-centered prevention work rooted in education, community care and culture change. Their work is about healing, connection and building safer, more resilient communities 💛 We’ll start the evening with a mocktail hour from 6:00-7:00 pm, with drinks lovingly crafted by the wonderful @theflowerhausvt . We’re honored to support their work 🖤 🌑 THEME: BLACKOUT 🌑 Come dressed in your darkest looks: black-on-black, goth, emo, vampire, femme fatale, femme brutale, dark wave, leather, lace, velvet, mesh, latex.
