When Queendom was formed, we were experimenting and singing together a lot. Apart from finding our sound, our time was spent having hilarious and beautiful conversations that forged a deep friendship between us three. The idea for Pussytalk entered so organically into our lives; it gave us the space to voice our individual stories and watch it evolve into something bigger than the sum of its parts. Over the years we’ve worked on Pussytalk with so many different womxn and each of them infused and enriched the song with their own experiences.

This week we bring our arrangement of Bairi Piya from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie ,”Devdas”. @shreyaghoshal was just 16 when she recorded this song and her voice is an inspiration in the Indian classical music space. Bright and early one morning, the 3 of us landed up in Ahmedabad.
Groggy but excited, unsure of what to expect, we walked through the halls of a quaint school into Raag's studio. Instantly hit with the aroma of gujju snacks and great vibes, we knew our day was going to be a hit!
We are so appreciative of Compass Box Studio's take on our original, Pussytalk. It was a blast swapping ideas and rearranging this monster of a song in a tight deadline. The ideas flowed freely resulting in an output we couldn't be more proud of!
