NINA WHITEMAN - @ninawhiteman Bagworm (a folk horror opera) is a multimedia DIY opera created and performed by Nina Whiteman. It is inspired by the fascinating bagworm (psychidae) moths, whose larvae construct a protective and camouflaging bag from items found in their environment, such as sand, lichen, sticks, and bits of dead insect. The opera presents a technologised Bagworm character, reflecting on threats to our wonderful and idiosyncratic species, such as light pollution and climate change. Bagworm is designed to tour sustainably in a suitcase via public transport. The opera will be presented in a specially revised quadrophonic version for Quad Tod. / THE UNIVERSAL VEIL (@folklore_tapes Folklore Tapes bring dictaphonic tape manipulation, battery amps and feedback. / ALEX IZAAK MILLING - @alexiizaak Establishing himself in the North of England, Alex Izaak Milling has carved a unique corner into the thriving improvised and DIY scene in Leeds. Specialising in electroacoustic composition, contemporary improvised music, sonic art and immersive exhibition, Milling is constantly exploring the relationship of sonic architecture and the impact it has on the relationship between the ‘performer’ and ‘perceiver’. With a plethora of tools including electronics, vocals and guitar, Milling pushes the role of technology in improvised music and sonic art with the aim for complete synergy between equipment and artist. /

not quad but still odd and in tod 🔥 Wrap up the bank holiday on a high! Totaleee on their UK tour from Italy and one of Menko's first homecoming shows 💥

This is an excerpt of the @thunkist live set from @quad_tod at the @goldenlion_todmorden To give an idea of the surround sound, the audio is binaural, so best listened to with headphones. Two magic @flowfal digital wands were handed out to the audience for this performance, with some of the sounds then being triggered by their movements. The rest of the sounds were played by Thunkist, using two more digital wands and a keyboard. The performance was in quadraphonic surround sound, so both the audience and Thunkist were able to move the sounds around the space with the wands. She began working in experimental concrete music and her practice has expanded to include dance, gesture, sonic drawings, stone sculpture and film. /
