Generalized actions are not perfect, but we would be remiss not to voice our visible support in a moment when so many are looking for community and answers. ❄
As part of the general strike today, our ticket sales are paused. But our actions (and your actions) don’t have to stop there.
Resources at the top (!!!) of our link in bio for anyone wanting to learn more about taking care of your neighbors, front line response to wintry conditions, and the orgs who are doing the good (and hard) work. If you’d like us to add a particular resource to this list, please DM us!
In more local and material terms, our studio doors are always open for folks looking for a warm, covid-safe spot to print pamphlets, fold zines, paint posters, pack care kits, or scream into the void.
Mutual aid and community care for life. We’re pissed and sad, but we love you. ❤️
When we launched @qnscollaboratory in June 2024, we imagined it as a place where folks could gather, learn, teach, and make—together! And our space on 21st Street has held us so tenderly as we leapt into this idea of a community-run art studio. But if you’ve been by for a workshop, a craft meet up, or some open studio time, you know the space is nearly overflowing. 🤪
Because this is New York City, and real estate is not accessible in so many ways, we imagined a move to a bigger space would be a longer-term goal. We were prepared to be scrappy! But!! Last month, we heard word of a bigger space in a small building around the corner on 41st Avenue. We won’t lie, it was love at first sight—a massive elevator that doesn’t require a key to operate, ✨1,500 square feet of studio space ✨ that allows for true physical accessibility, and plenty of room to hold all our supplies and our dreams for more of you to gather in the space.
So, another leap—𝘄𝗲’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 (which we’ve lovingly nicknamed 🍝The Noodio) in time for the new year. Expect to see a full-ish calendar starting mid-January!
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗢𝗨?
🤸🏻more space to spread out during workshops; a flexible physical space that allows for more 🎨types 🎪of 💼events 🪩; dedicated sewing 🧵🪡🧶✂️and printmaking stations ✍🏻🕹️that will be available every day; additional capacity for Studio Members (more on that later in January) 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟; and more chances to come and create alongside your neighbors. ✨ ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ✨
