Who speaks for the ocean? 🌊 Blue Burning takes us to the frontlines of one of South Africa’s largest environmental movements; where coastal communities, Indigenous groups, scientists, and activists come together to resist offshore oil and gas expansion. Through a visually striking and deeply human lens, creators Janet Solomon and Viki van den Barselaar Smith capture a story of collective resistance, cultural protection, and the fight for climate justice. This film is a call to listen, to act, and to imagine a different future. 🎥 Blue Burning is a finalist film in the Feature Length Film category! Join us at PWFF to experience Blue Burning and other powerful finalist films. Register now via the link in our bio. Spots are filling up quick!! ✨ #WildStorieswithPWFF #AfricanStorytelling #ClimateJustice #ConservationFilms #AfricanStoriesRising

Step into the world of Afrotopia 🌿🎥 In this finalist film, director David Mboussou takes us deep into the Congo Basin, where questions of identity, heritage, and ecological justice unfold through the journey of a young aspiring filmmaker caught between duty and freedom. Through Afrotopia, David reclaims African narratives weaving together history, memory, and spirituality to tell a story that is both deeply personal and profoundly political. 📢 Registration is officially open!! 🎉🙌 As PWFF turns 5 and anchors its roots in Mombasa, ENTRY to this year’s festival IS FREE thanks to the generous support of our venue partner. Because access matters. PWFF was built as an inclusive space, not an exclusive one, for Africans, by Africans, from Africa, and open to the wider filmmaking community. In a moment where too many industry spaces confuse high ticket prices with high value, we’re choosing a different path: one that keeps the door open and the community at the center. Come home. 📍 Alliance Française de Mombasa 📅 May 27th to 31st, 2026 🔗Find the Registration link in our bio #PWFF2026 #RegistrationOpen #AfricanStoriesRising #TheHomeOfAfricanStorytellers #RootedInAfricaResonatingGlobally

🌊🎬PWFF 2026 is taking over our Kenyan coast! Mombasa, ARE. YOU. READY?!?! This May, the Indian Ocean will serve as our new backdrop! We're thrilled to officially share the dates and reveal the location for the next chapter of Africa’s premier wildlife, nature and conservation film festival. PWFF is officially anchoring its roots in the vibrant, historic port city of Mombasa. This relocation to the coast is strategic and intentional. Mombasa places us at the intersection of terrestrial and marine conservation storytelling, a connection that is critically underrepresented in global conservation media. Through our Blue Horizon Initiative, PWFF 2026 will use film to bridge the land-to-sea narrative in ways that have never been done on this continent before while building a festival that serves the underserved creative economy along Kenya's coast. Excited and grateful to be building towards this with our existing and new tribe of sponsors, partners and collaborators @greatplainsfoundation @creativevisionsfoundation @frenchembassynairobi @af_mombasa @mydocubox @fallohideafrica @oceanculturelife @wildlife_film @severinsealodge @citybluecreekside @discover.lala @boxo.hotels Reach out if you're interested in being part of our community; whether as a sponsor, partner or collaborator! Registration details coming soon... 📅 Save the Dates: May 27th - 31st, 2026 📍 Location: Mombasa, Kenya #PWFF2026 #MombasaRaha #RunThisTown #TheHomeOfAfricanStorytellers #RootedInAfricaResonatingGlobally
