Two massive watch brands just announced a collab dropping May 16th and people are split on whether it’s genius or a complete disaster.
For anyone not deep into watches…
Audemars Piguet is one of the most exclusive luxury watch brands on the planet. Their iconic Royal Oak models start around $30,000 retail and regularly sell for way more on the secondary market 💰
Swatch is known for affordable, colorful watches almost anyone can buy.
Back in 2022, Swatch teamed up with Omega for the MoonSwatch and it turned into absolute chaos… lines wrapped around city blocks and pairs instantly flipped online for huge profits 📈
Now they’re doing it again… but this time with AP 👀
No official photos have dropped yet. Just two teaser words:
“Royal” and “Pop”
The internet figured out the collab within hours, and now AI mockups are flooding social media even though nobody has actually seen the real watch yet 🤖
Some people think this could become the cheapest way ever to own a version of one of the most iconic watch designs in history.
Others think putting the Royal Oak silhouette on a cheaper Swatch completely destroys the exclusivity that made AP special in the first place 😬
Either way… resellers are already watching this HARD because if demand looks anything like the MoonSwatch launch, these could instantly flip for profit on release day 🔥
Drop date is May 16th and it’s reportedly in-store only.
