Was a fun bunch of shows for last month's tour. 🔗link in bio | Step into the raw, offbeat world of Puppet Midnight. Blending angular indie punk with storytelling that drifts through myth, mischief, and the surreal, this session is anything but ordinary. Live from the cellar, it’s stripped-back, unpredictable, and completely captivating. Puppet Midnight aka Stu Fraser is a Scottish Musician from Aberdeen, based in Edinburgh who has been writing and performing music in bands for over a decade and solo since 2019. Their music can be described as ‘Alternative angular indie punk solo bass with vocals telling tales of halfling druids, puppets, corupt circuses, unique animals and Greek mythology amongst other things.’ However, songs can also include the use of the ukulele, spoken word and even the glockenspiel. Their music has been featured on various podcasts/radio shows (The Watt From Pedro Show, Mr Bear’s Violet Hour, EHFM, The Pete Jones Show) and thus far they have released four EPs, a standalone single (as part of a compilation for Remembrance For Lost Species 2020), two albums, plus a release of live stream recordings. Puppet’s latest EP was recorded at Abdie and Dunbog Church, Fife with Pete Harvey (Paul Vickers & The Leg, Song By Toad, Modern Studies) and is out now on Fuzz Bat Records.

Day seven and show six/final show of Feb tour was on Saturday at @leithdepot138 w @timholehouse (my tour mate), @brownmidwinter and @twonkeyverse for @fuzzbatgigs 🎵 The Friday night was a blast in Inverness. Was good fun doing a varied set involving some spoken word as well as my usual bass and ukulele nonsense and was cool seeing Tim do his longest set of the tour and get the crowd involved on a song. Tim's pals: Jane and Gareth were also super fun to hang out with. I also loved playing in a room containing people who have accents similar to my own (still different mind as I'm fae Aiberdeen) ✨️ We stayed in Nairn on the fri night at Gareth's. Nairn has now redeemed itself after my last visit there when I was 12 and my bike got stolen 🚲 Had a nice chill start before we left late morning for the drive back to Edinburgh. Tim took us on a particularly scenic route which was well pretty. Scotland is awfy bonnie when it wants to be ❄️ Was an amazing night at Leith Depot and a perfect way to end the tour. The depot is my fave venue with the best vibes and super lovely staff who all greeted us warmly when we arrived 💚 The Depot food and drinks are superb (had the beer batter pickles for dinner. My fave thing on the menu but all great stuff) 🥒 Played my best set of the whole tour to the largest crowd of the week and was super lovely to have some of my pals and fave people in attendance. Shout outs to @sha_rivari , @saramacarra , @scrivenergrant , Gordon and Martyn for your lovely presences 🥰 Tim, Twonketta and CKDH all smashed it too. Tim didn't even let his amp crapping out stop him, ending his set with a beautiful acoustic number. Amazing sound for all the acts from @leonorawinstanley too 🎶 Was super lovely to chill in the depot across the eve with folks. Day six and show five of tour w @timholehouse is tonight at Market Bar in Inverness. First time I've ever played up here. Will be interesting to perform somewhere where the audience are from further up north than me 💥 Beautiful show last night at @blocglasgow . Thought @nylanylanylanylabatman , Tim and I all played really well. Also lovely to catch up a bit with my pal: Kenny of @quittermusic 💚 We stayed at mine last night and was so nice to sleep in my own bed for the first time in days. After a leisurely rise, I made what I thought was a banging breakfast for Tim, my partner and I. Also I now have badges. They arrived while I was away. Delighted with how they turned out. Wonder if I'll sell any tonight... Another long drive of nearly four hours. Set off late around quarter to 3 and arrived at half 6. Beautiful views on way up. North Scotland is so pretty. Beautiful hills with snow on top ❄️ Went to get food when we arrived after dropping the stuff off at market bar. We ate in a food court next to the venue. Had some banging loaded fries w mayo, dill pickles and onions 🍟 Market bar is a well cool venue and looks ace. It's well cosy and has proper nice pub vibes. Half price pints for playing too! Yaasss queen! Robert on the bar greeted us nicely and was nice to chat to. In a change to the last two nights, the venue is up a flight of stairs 💥 Simple set tonight on my end with nae pedals (bar my tuner). Tim has stripped his setup back a bit too pedal wise. Simple set up at the venue with a wee PA after all. Will see how a spoken word number or two goes down I reckon... Stuff sounding generally decent in the brief soundchecks we did 🎵 Late show tonight starting at 10pm and no local acts joining us. Day five and show four of tour w my tour mate: @timholehouse is tonight at @blocglasgow w @nylanylanylanylabatman ✨️ Fantastic show last night at @cafeblah . Terrific sets all round from Tim, @_felixp99 and Shunned By Dogs (@drawnonabs + co) and think I did a good job too! 💥 Super chill start to the day. I'd stayed at Brandon's, Tim at his friend Dan's. We all met up (sans Dan) and had an amazing breakfast at a Greasy spoon named 'The Coffee House Cafe'. Does what it says on the tin. Two cups of tea and a bun with hash browns, veggie sausages, egg and mushrooms w beans on the side for under a tenner. Get in! ☕️ Twas a four hour drive up to Bonnie Scotland today, so we stopped off at the border for a wee break. Lovely views travelling up through the north of England and it's well emotional hearing Scottish accents again (got a bit teary when I was chatting to Nyla about this) ⛰️ 🥳 Arrived in glasgow and it's suitably wet, cold and dark (to be fair, it's been cold everywhere we've been this tour). Tis the Glasgow way as my sister says. Managed to get a parking spot right near the venue and a table in Bloc nice and promptly 🌧 🌙 I love Bloc. Amazing vibes in here and the sound is always great. I've played here a bunch of times and the staff are well nice. You also get an excellent pizza for free if you're playing. Really enjoyed eating mine earlier 🍕 🍍 🌶 Soundcheck went great. Jack the tech has everything sounding excellent 🎶 Anyways always a pleasure playing bloc and am stoaked about sharing a bill with my pal: Nyla again (our 3rd time on a bill together) as her songs are great!
