Social horror that raises the bar. #TheHonours (@thehonoursindia )- an RPSG Media (@rpsg.lifestylemedia ) property powered by The Hollywood Reporter India - celebrate Khauf â a rare, complex genre vehicle that conflates the natural fear of being a woman in India with the supernatural fear of ghosts. Set in a working womenâs hostel, itâs superbly performed, sharply plotted, and ambitiously staged. We capture cast and crew members Satyam Sharma (@satyamshivamsundaram_8 ), Smita Singh (@smita_singhstories ), Nikhil Madhok (@madhoknikhil ), Monika Panwar (@monikapanwar ), Sarita Patil (@saritagpatil ), Priyanka Setia (@priyankasetia11 ), â Shalini Vatsa (@itsshalinivatsa ), Surya Balakrishnan (@suryab ), Rajat Kapoor, and Pankaj Kumar (@punkudge ) at The Honours celebration.

#Khauf Review: A Rare, Socially Conscious Indian Horror Series
Finally, we got the time to talk about this excellently crafted Indian horror seriesâone with a strong social conscience that has stayed with us ever since we watched it. What begins as a slow-burn mystery gradually transforms into a deeply unsettling and realistic horror storyâreal in the sense of the everyday fears and dangers working women face.
Itâs rare to see seasoned actors take on a story so well-cooked in the Indian horror space, especially on streaming platforms. Writer Smita Singh and director Pankaj Kumar deserves full credit; itâs not easy to tell a story with this level of sensitivity and confidence, yet she handles it with remarkable control.
@rkrkay is the show stealer here. What an actorâhis screen presence, voice, and restrained menace are enough to terrify anyone. If he strategically promoted his role on social media, this series could genuinely become his 2.0 moment in mainstream Bollywood. On the other hand, @itsmonikapanwar continues to rise as a strong performer. One can only hope the industry doesnât confine her talent to small-scale filmsâshe truly deserves bigger, better opportunities.
Room No. 333 doesnât just showcase a malevolent force; it mirrors the perverse realities of the society women live in. The series once again reminds us that an abuser can often be someone close. The moment when the five girls, unknowingly, engage in an act of self-defenseâonly for that act to take control of their livesâperfectly reflects how society chooses to judge women, no matter how careful or innocent they are.
A haunting and smartly executed series that uses horror not just to scare, but to hold up a mirror to society.
