Liverpool-based collective Assembly makes a strong first move into the label space with Line 1, a four-track VA that feels like both an introduction and a mission statement. Known for their events, Assembly now translates that same underground energy into a recorded format, and the result is a release that feels built for the club from start to finish.
Right from the opening track, Puncta’s “Cuff,” the tone is set with deep, weighty sub-bass that hits with serious intent. It is the kind of track that feels designed for peak-time moments, where the room is packed, and the system is doing all the talking. From there, The Cyclist’s “Acid Twax” shifts things into a more distorted, hypnotic space, leaning into gritty acid textures that feel raw and immersive.
Emmett G’s “Onward” continues the journey with a driving, bleep-heavy rhythm that nods to classic UK sounds while still pushing forward. It has that steady, rolling energy that keeps things moving without losing focus. Then comes Strathearn’s “Pulse,” closing the EP with a surge of relentless techno that feels intense and tightly wound, locking you into its rhythm and refusing to let go.
‘Line 1’ is a confident and uncompromising debut, fusing raw club energy with a sharp forward-thinking vision that feels both current and future-facing.
