It’s been a long time coming. It feels impossible at every step: to conceptualize a story, write the screenplay over many drafts, pitch the idea to others, try to get funding, build a coalition of creatives, begin production, and then wrap. There’s a relief in being able to say you even got that far. But that’s not the end. It’s actually a restart. For almost two and half years, this film only existed insofar as we could go through footage located in hard drives, open a project file, or watch a private link. For us, it was a great privilege and reminder of the lightning in a bottle we had captured back in 2023.
