I feel like insta posts are so much work so I don’t post much anymore, but I should have done a post a day with all my beautiful travel pictures to count down the last days of 2025 because this year has been so sweet that I had to do a tally myself:
-visited 5 different countries across 4 continents
-went on 26 flights (11 domestic, 15 international) and 11 ferries
-spent 155 days away from Vancouver (including 69 days for work, 28 days traveling with babe, 16 days with friends or family, and 30 days back in Taiwan)
-4 camping trips
-swam in the Arctic Ocean
-Worked on 9 productions & 3 festivals (I want to do a separate post about work because I’ve unexpectedly toured so much this year, and I have so many pictures to share)
All in all, I’d say it’s been a pretty awesome year. What makes all the trips fun and worthwhile are the company I make along the way, so here’s an appreciation of some of the people I’ve loved spending time with this past year, and look forward to seeing more of in the future.

從去年在台灣第一次參與示威遊行到溫哥華繼續行動，到今年又回到台北再次跟著大家一起走過西門町。雖然我跟女友一年前做的示威旗已經回收掉了（我們真的太樂觀了，沒想到一年後還用得上），不過這次我自己一個人兩手空空的、就只準備了我的嗓子去參加，是讓我最感傷的一次。身旁有好幾個小朋友，喊口號喊得都比旁邊的大人還要大聲好幾倍！我邊走邊大聲跟著喊、邊看著前面的那個小妹妹，喊的比我賣命，我眼睛都濕了。
心中的一個個為什麼把我吞沒：為什麼美國要繼續贊助以色列？為什麼有力的西方國家沒有採取更積極的手段停止戰火？為什麼那麼多的無辜百姓受害？以色列憑什麼種族滅絕？
我覺得要讓這些小朋友來承擔這世界上可怕的事實和國家領導人物的無能很可恥，也同時為他們的心情和未來感到擔憂、難過、還有無比的無助，可是也非常佩服他們今天敢站出來的勇氣。
我們大人們可不能漏氣喔，尤其是那些在西門町看熱鬧的。你們聽到了嗎？台北的人啊，你們看到了嗎？還給巴勒斯坦🇵🇸自由！

From the first protest we attended in Taipei last year to the demonstrations in Vancouver in March, to the rally again in Taipei, today is by far the most emotional one for me. Armed with only my voice this time (naively, KT and I recycled the signs we made last year - who knew we still needed them a year later?), I was joined by a few kids who shouted louder and prouder than any of the adults around them.
Upon thinking how unfair it is that they have to carry the weight of these worldly disasters and wars on their shoulders, or how unreasonable it is that the western world leaders with power just stood by as Isr@el commits genocide, I felt an overwhelming helplessness, sadness, and worry for our collective futures.
The people of Taipei, do you hear us? Those who saw us march through Ximending with amusement today, are you watching? Rise up and speak up, Taiwan! Free 🍉🍉🍉!
