Compelling, each character showing unique features of response to place, things and each other. Sonic resonance was immersive. Captivating in the stillest moments." — PuSh Audience Member

@alanlakefactorie returned to PuSh with Orpheus—a powerful reimagining of the myth as a visceral dance through darkness toward connection and renewal. Through striking choreography, light, and immersive stage design, Alan Lake creates a world where body, matter, and image collide, moving between dream and reality.
PuSh audiences said it best:
🔹 “Life Changing, 10/10”
🔹 “I was so moved by Orpheus. Gorgeous, raw performances and spectacular use of space, light and minimal sets. Really felt like crawling up through the underworld to the light."
🔹 “I need Alan Lake Factori(e) to bring every single one of their creations to Vancouver for I have just witnessed the best piece of art in history.”
🔹 “A great spectacle of movement, sound, lighting, sets and props in a top venue.”
❗ICYMI ❗On Epidoode 72 of PuSh Play, guest host and PuSh Curatorial Assistant, Chipo Chipaziwa, chats with Cherish Menzo about her show JEZEBEL. With playful energy, pop music, and pointed critique, these performers confront the big questions of existence, grief, and revenge with striking honesty.
It’s a bold vision for a more just and joyful future, and it has already captivated audiences across 20 countries. 🌍🔥 DO NOT MISS THIS.

Everything Has Disappeared invited audiences to imagine a world where Filipino workers suddenly vanish, and the systems we rely on begin to unravel. Through digital interactive technology (and a touch of magic), Everything Has Disappeared exposed the hidden architecture of the global economy: a system sustained by the labour, care, and migration of Filipino workers.

We’re helping to kick off the 16th Indian Summer Festival with a PuSh co-presentation that refuses to play nice—live at Vancouver Playhouse.
Come early for the Opening Night Happy Hour. Stay for the rupture.
Vidura Bandara Rajapaksa—fresh off a multi-continental tour and a global following in the millions—lands in Vancouver with Paradise Gothic: a dark, razor-sharp hour exploring immigration, modern spirituality, and the absurdities of trying to stay human.
Deadpan. Postcolonial. Unsettlingly precise.
Featuring:
🔥 Charlie Demers opening the night (CBC Debater)
🎶 Piu weaving sound and memory through the evening
This isn’t comedy that lets you off the hook. It’s comedy that knows exactly where to press.

Presented as part of PuSh Festival’s 20th Anniversary in 2025, THIRST TRAP is an intimate sound-based experience designed to be encountered from the comfort of your own bathtub. Blending narrative and meditation, the work invites audiences into a multi-sensory ritual of reflection—exploring the intertwined realities of self-care, environmental stewardship, and collective responsibility.
Originally conceived during lockdown, the piece bridges distance through shared action. Participants receive a thoughtfully curated package of handmade and small-batch materials to transform their bathing space into a site of contemplation.
At once personal and political, THIRST TRAP asks us to consider the impact of resource extraction, colonial systems, and climate injustice—while reminding us that meaningful change begins with collective care.
We are pleased to be able to auction off the last remaining experience to a lucky bidder.
