A few days ago I flew to NYC for TWO missions: 1) grab @thisisoptiks & rock an overpacked legendary show with @ipullrank@thelox + @methodmanofficial 2) take a picture with Meth š š¾ WE DID THAT! Shouts to @statikselekt for being so nice and @nicothepro for being her baddie self always and taking me on a Brooklyn based adventure! New York City is magical. Killed the show too! Friends and music really make this thing go. My family is from the deepest Mississippi trenches. I wish I knew what my fatherās voice sounded like. My wife is releasing a powerful album in a month or so. The only way out really is through aināt it man?

Thereās a difference between music that sounds vulnerable and music that actually is. āIS THIS A SAFE SPACE?ā doesnāt perform vulnerability, it sits in it, wrestles with it, and lets it breathe without trying to clean it up for the listener. Psalm One @psalmone approaches this project like a personal archive being opened in real time. Her writing feels intentional but not overly polished, like sheās more concerned with truth than perfection. Thereās weight behind her words, not because theyāre trying to impress, but because they feel lived in.. She doesnāt rush through thoughts, she lets them linger, even when theyāre uncomfortable. The strength of the album is in its restraint. Instead of overloading every track, she gives ideas space to land. You can hear the pauses, the reflections, the moments where emotion carries more than lyricism alone. It feels less like performance and more like processing..

This weekend has me falling in love with Chicago even more. Good friends in town and work is beautiful. The @the_dream_blunt_rotation was also so so good (per usual). Soul cleansing situations. If you have the means, I highly suggest you picking some up.

I recently made macaroni and cheese for my friends @richjones_music & @eegroden and I wanted yall to know. Also, remember to check on ya strong and ya not-so-strong friends because we need each other more than ever.
Cheeses used : extra sharp cheddar, mozzarella, smoked Gouda and Colby jack. It was delicious.
