Keynote reader Margaret Randall—herself a Giard subject—will share selections from her forthcoming book, The Calendar’s Whim. 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗟𝗜𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗗 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔 𝗙𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗛 Celebrate the release of cj nizard & léon pradeau’s translation of 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘥 𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳, the first full-length book by Cécile Mainardi to appear in English, written “expressly for the swimming occasion of writing” where the text “flow(s) continuously into what it ceaselessly isn’t” (Lewis Freedman). nizard & pradeau will be joined for an afternoon of readings, movement, & sound with Kareem James Abu-Zeid reading translations by the Arabic-language Palestinian author Najwan Darwish. Abu-Zeid is currently working on a new collection of Darwish’s, which will be published by NYRB Poets in 2027 Rulan Tangen, Founding Artistic Director of DANCING EARTH @dancing.earth will be offering a solo movement about land/water relationship, the cottonwoods who dwell near the river, community voices of listening to water, and listening to her own marrow that connects to one line of her ancestors who are ‘people of the Pampanga river’ and Amanda Dannáe Romero @adlr.art experimental artist and musician based in Albuquerque will present a live sound piece using recordings collected from the Rio Grande riparian environment Sat April 25 2-4PM smoke the moon 616 1/2 Canyon Rd Santa Fe NM 87505
