What a great end to a great track season. Seriously so proud of our athletes and how hard they all worked this season.
Pole vault is such a mental game and sometimes it can really knock you down. Really impressed with how everyone persevered through every up and down and came out on top! So many prโs this year.
Excited for summer season!

I stopped trying to โfit protein inโ at the end of the day @and started building my meals around it.
That looks like:
* choosing a protein first at every meal
* keeping meals simple (protein + carb + fat)
* having easy go-to options on hand
* planning ahead instead of playing catch up
* having a protein supplement to lean on when I needed an extra push
Protein matters because it helps with feeling full, reducing cravings, supporting muscle, and improving overall body composition
But none of that matters if youโre not actually hitting your target consistently

Here are 5 things that might be keeping you stuck..

1. youโre not eating enough to support your body. Do something right now; figure out your basal metabolic rate (the calories your body needs to keep you alive). Here is the formula:
Women: 10W + 6.25H - 5A - 161 (W=weight in kg, H=height in cm, A=age in years)
Men: 10W + 6.25H - 5A + 5
Tell me what number you get in the comments below so I can explain further.
2. Youโre not giving your body enough time to reset overnight. A 12 hour fast is important for insulin control, reduced late night snacking, better blood sugar control, digestive reset, appetite regulation, & hormone balance. SOLUTION: I stop eating at 7-8pm and eat again between 7:30-8am.
3. youโre sitting down after meals. Sitting down right after you eat a meal causes slower glucose control which leads to higher postmeal blood sugar spikes. It increases insulin demand which overtime can reduce insulin sensitivity. Thereโs a greater potential for fat storage because with elevated insulin and low activity more energy is stored vs used. SOLUTION: take a walk. 10-20 min post meals is all thatโs needed. Keep intensity low.
4. youโre doing random 30 minute workouts from YouTube or going to the gym and doing random machines for random sets. Your body adapts. When workouts once were effective suddenly become ineffective. SOLUTION: a program and a plan that includes progressions so your body doesnโt have a chance to adapt and plateau. DM me if youโre interested in 1:1 coaching.
5. youโre not controlling your stress. High stress leads to elevated cortisol, increased appetite and cravings, impaired insulin sensitivity (so your body shifts towards fat storage), disrupted sleep, poor recovery & performance, muscle breakdown.
SOLUTION: start saying no to things. Seriously. Be consistent with sleep. Keep the same sleep/wake times. I use earplugs, nasal strips and magnesium for better sleep. Consider progesterone if yours is low. Increase sunlight exposure. Practice 5 min of nasal breathing. Consider adaptogens to help lower stress & cortisol. Comment STRESS for my favorite supplement.
