Opening the record,
@eyot__tapes is a project by Alexander Green, best known for his main alias
@boddika and as one half of
@instra.mental.uk . Eyot Tapes is a dense, humid dive into the depths of an imaginary world—an experimental journey blending tropical bird calls, intriguing melodies
and cassette-treated delay. A perfect, cinematic opener for the VA
Following this,
@saphileaum , a modern sorcerer of percussion, invites us into his poetic and dreamlike tropical universe. Rostevan feels like a gentle and pleasant ride in a pagoda boat down an imaginary river.
The journey then shifts above the surface with Roe,
@looplf — the alias of London-based producer
@caldera.em.es — feels like a breath of fresh air. Aquatic visions begin to surface, as percussions bubble up from the depths of the sea, carried by windy, textural currents.
Closing the release, 1too — also known as
@secondcousin_ and Tunnel Dancers — delivers a breaky techno track infused with dub and house elements, bubbly textures, and tropical percussion. Sparkling elements emerge unpredictably, yet always harmoniously, creating a strangely relaxing atmosphere.
