FULL VIDEO in bio link
I’ve partnered up with Prologis, renowned industrial and logistics developer, to bring you a unique series exploring the fascinating, often overlooked, world of logistics and the “modern cathedrals” that keep everyday life moving.
In the first episode, ”Steels Up”, I meet Regional Head of Prologis UK, Paul Weston, for a deep dive into:
- The importance of logistics & location
- The story behind DIRFT’s development
- How Prologis pioneers build-to-suit with the future in mind
- Smarter steel use that reduces carbon by up to 60%
This episode also takes me on site of 3 new state of the art build-to-suit units offering a closer look at innovation on an incredible scale, before wrapping up with creating my own little piece of history.
Make sure to follow along so you can watch this episode and the rest of the series.

Recently, a group of young people visited DIRFT to find out more about the Prologis National Construction Skills Programme.
Whilst the video Benniman Construction Group put together needs no real introduction, we received some fantastic feedback from candidates on the programme:
“The moment I walked into the open day, it gave me joy, a sense of security for the future.”
“The courses exceeded my expectations, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity.”
“I’ve gained a lot of technical construction skills. I’ve earned valuable certifications and qualifications.”
“It has turned a difficult period of unemployment into an opportunity for growth and a fresh start.”
What amazing testimonials to hear! Thanks to Benniman, @winvicconstruction , Whitings Landscaping and @gwillsolutions Solutions for your support.
What makes ‘good development’?
Developments that prioritise better, holistic spaces will go further in delivering strong returns on investment, and creating thriving communities where people genuinely want to work.
On May 20th at 9:30am, Ian Romano joins a panel of experts at @ukreiif 2026 to unpack what good development really means, and how we can deliver spaces with long-term commercial and social value.
Make sure you don’t miss this panel if you’re heading to UKREiiF this year.

IMPACT Day 2026 🌍
Colleagues from our UK offices are joining forces today at the Sir John Lowther County Scout Activity Centre in Kettering, Northamptonshire, supporting a charity that helps young people build confidence, resilience and life skills through outdoor learning.
Like many charities, it relies on ongoing support to maintain and improve its facilities.
Our teams are rolling up their sleeves to deliver a range of hands-on projects across the site, including enhancements to a pond area, a bouldering wall, den building spaces, a BBQ shelter and planting across the grounds.
A small contribution that will help create a lasting impact for the young people and communities who use this space.
Thank you to Whitings Landscaping for their support in making this possible.

Shovels hit the ground at Prologis Park Coventry as we kicked off construction of the new Birkdale distribution centre.
This milestone marks the next step in Birkdale’s growth journey, bringing fresh momentum to one of the West Midlands’ most dynamic logistics hubs.
Taiwo Owatemi MP and Rachel Taylor MP joined our Prologis UK team on site to see the progress firsthand, meeting with BIRKDALE and Eurofit Group, another customer advancing its new facility at the park, to discuss how this growing cluster of investment is driving jobs and skills across the region.
We appreciate Taiwo Owatemi MP and Rachel Taylor MP joining us on site and taking the time to hear directly from the businesses investing in the region.
As access to labour for out-of-town employers continues to limit job opportunities, a fresh approach to unlocking growth is required.
James Hemstock, Prologis UK’s Vice President in the Capital Deployment team, will be at @ukreiif discussing how sustainable travel, powered by data-driven insights, can enhance transport investment for regions up and down the country. Sat alongside representatives from @mobilityways and @westnorthants council, this panel will be packed full of takeaways for improving social and economic outcomes through business connectivity.
Heading to UKREiiF? Join us to hear more on Tuesday 19th May at the Winvic Pavilion!

#GetToKnowYourCustomerDay: @furniturevillage
Founded in 1989, Furniture Village has built a national presence, with 59 stores and a reputation for quality, choice and service. To support its next phase of growth, the business has expanded at Prologis Park Marston Gate, doubling its footprint in a new National Distribution Centre.
The new DC brings national and regional operations together, alongside dedicated training and office space, helping the team work smarter and deliver faster.
As David Ayers from Furniture Village, explained: “Securing our new national distribution centre gives us the capacity and flexibility to keep pace with customer demand while investing in the future of our team. By increasing our fast-delivery stock and streamlining our operations, we’re able to offer customers a quicker, smoother experience from purchase to delivery, wherever they are in the UK.”
By expanding their operations onsite, Furniture Village were able to scale at pace whilst retaining their experienced workforce and minimising disruption.
It's a strong example of long-term partnership in action and how the right space supports sustainable growth.
An early start, a cold concrete floor and very little sleep.
Our team recently took part in the @landaidcharity SleepOut 2026, joining others across the industry to raise vital funds for young people facing homelessness.
Thank you to Lewis Patterson & Oscar Williams for organising the event and participating alongside Stuart Davies, Jugdeep Gill, Liv Bambury & Tom Osborne, who supported one another throughout the night. We are incredibly proud of you.
Read Tom’s blog about the experience on our website.
If you’re able to, please consider donating to support LandAid’s work tackling youth homelessness. Every contribution makes a difference. Link in bio.
