Isla …. born with the odds stacked against her. Resuscitated at birth and starved of oxygen due to a mild brain injury (HIE) due to a cord prolapse following the delivery of her twin brother first. She thankfully made a full recovery following three days of cooling at birth. She inspires me every day and when I say she is a fighter warrior even…I can see she’s from a strong line of females within my lineage! I learn so much from her and through her eyes. Just watching her do her pull ups and kick the chair away I know she continues to battle all that life has thrown at her #warrior #birthstory #fighter #ancestors #togetherwearestrong

Taking a moment to pause… ….stop the noise and constant demands and just listen to nature and move in nature. Pure dopamine hit! Dopamine is that high we all enjoy but it is far healthier to get it from nature and outside and moving our bodies. Coaching is also about watching people realise what they’re capable of. ✨ A PB of over a minute for Peter over 10km. Children building confidence towards their very first race. And a woman who believed getting older meant getting slower… now reversing the script completely and improving again. šŸ”„ This is why I coach. I fill my cup with chasing sunsets, tired legs, open skies, and moments that remind me I’m alive.Journalling, candles and warm bubble baths. I’ve learned that peace doesn’t always come from escaping life… sometimes it comes from fully feeling it. From watching the sky turn gold after a hard day. From running trails until my mind quiets. From choosing presence over distraction. The sunsets don’t solve everything, but they remind me there is still beauty here — even in the middle of exhaustion, grief, chaos, and rebuilding. Comparison is a lie. Note to self and those I coach! As a coach and an athlete myself, one of the hardest things I have to remind everyone is this: stay in your own lane. You are comparing your chapter 3 to someone else’s chapter 20. Their highlight reel to your behind-the-scenes. Their rested body to your exhausted one. Their training block to your season of survival. You don’t know what someone is sacrificing, hiding, healing from, or carrying. I coach runners from every stage of life — new mums, people rebuilding after injury, athletes navigating grief, burnout, anxiety, heartbreak, stress. And comparison steals progress from all of them. Because the moment you obsess over someone else’s pace, body, mileage, race result, or comeback… you disconnect from your own journey. The athlete who improves the most is rarely the one screaming the loudest online. It’s the one quietly showing up consistently. Staying patient. Trusting the process. Learning their own body.
