Your contributions to Project Feast go directly to our programs! Our Culinary Apprenticeship Donor Menu provides a variety of options for supporting our students as they go through our 10-week culinary job training program. All students receive a culinary success kit (measuring tools, non-slip shoes, professional chef’s knife, and a PF apron), King County minimum wage for 160 hours, and a shopping trip to pick out an interview outfit, work clothes, and/or kitchen supplies. All graduates leave with a professional resume, letter of recommendation, interview practice, and individualized job search support. Go to the links in our bio to learn more, donate, order catering and Family Meals, or bid on an auction item before midnight tonight (October 31st). We are so grateful for your support of our community, programs, and Culinary Apprentices.

This family meal features Goan Chicken Curry. Goan-style curry is a tangy, aromatic, coconut-based dish from Goa, India. The use of coconut milk gives the curry a creamy texture and subtle sweetness that balances the warmth of the spices, making it a beloved and popular dish. Our vegetarian version is made with garbanzo beans, simmered in the same flavorful curry sauce. Paired with the curry is a vegetable biryani, a traditional rice dish celebrated for its rich aroma, and complex flavors. Made with basmati rice, assorted vegetables, and a blend of whole and ground spices, this fragrant dish is layered with flavor in every bite. Come join us on May 22 at Stoup Brewing in both the Capitol Hill and Ballard locations. A portion of the proceeds from sales of Mother of Exiles IPA throughout the month of May will be donated to Project Feast. We hope you enjoy this meal as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing it to the table. Click on link in bio to order.

NEW BEER ALERT 🔔 Mother of Exiles IPA is inspired by the poet Emma Lazarus and her poem The New Colossus (1883). We use it as an opportunity to highlight a community in need, and this year we are teaming up with @projectfeast , an organization dedicated to providing the skills and training to equip refugees and immigrants for a career in the food industry. Swing by our taprooms to grab a pint of this brand new IPA, and check out the link in our bio to find out more about them- including when they’ll be at Stoup serving their own hot meals! #projectfeast #newbeeralert #craftbeer

We’re excited to bring back Family Meal, and this week we’re celebrating the rich flavors of the Philippines. It’s especially meaningful to share dishes from my own culture, foods that were a constant at family gatherings and special occasions growing up. At the heart of this week’s menu is Adobo, often considered the national dish of the Philippines. More than a single recipe, adobo is a traditional cooking method rooted in preservation. Long before refrigeration, Filipinos cooked meat in vinegar and salt (or soy sauce) to extend its shelf life in a tropical climate. The result is a dish that is deeply savory, tangy, and uniquely Filipino. We’re also featuring Pancit, a beloved noodle dish whose name comes from the Hokkien phrase pian e sit, meaning “something cooked quickly.” Introduced by Chinese immigrants and adapted over generations, pancit is now a staple at celebrations and is often served to symbolize long life and good fortune. With dozens of regional variations, it reflects the diversity and creativity of Filipino cuisine. Rounding out the meal is Sinangag, or Filipino garlic fried rice. Made with yesterday’s rice, garlic, and simple seasonings, it’s a humble but flavorful dish that pairs perfectly with just about everything. We hope you enjoy this meal as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing it to the table.

Thank you to our graduate, Feruza (and her daughter Madina, who performed at Feast for Change last year!) for sharing some of your immigration story, your Uzbek culture, and your experience at Project Feast! Seattle is so very lucky to have you. Thank you Al Kemp @seattletimes for highlighting Feruza’s journey alongside other important stories of immigrants, and some of our local community organizations working to support their transition. We are honored to do this work side by side. You can watch Feruza’s short video in our reels and you can find the full Seattle Times article linked in our bio! On May 5, 2026, we invite you to join us for GiveBIG, a day dedicated to generosity, community, and sustaining the programs that bring people together through food. This year, we’re facing an urgent and unexpected need. One of our standing refrigerators, the backbone of our kitchen operations, has failed. After careful assessment, we’ve learned that due to the unit’s age, repairs are not a viable or cost-effective option. To continue safely storing the ingredients that fuel our training programs and community meals, we must replace it. The cost of a new commercial-grade refrigerator is approximately $2,500. This refrigerator isn’t just a piece of equipment, it’s essential to everything we do. From hands-on culinary training to preparing shared meals that celebrate culture and connection, reliable refrigeration ensures food safety, minimizes waste, and keeps our kitchen running smoothly. How You Can Help You don’t have to wait until May 5—you can give now to support our GiveBIG campaign and help us respond to this urgent need. Your donation can make an immediate difference. A gift of any size brings us closer to replacing this critical equipment and getting our kitchen fully operational again. • $50 helps stock fresh ingredients once the new unit arrives • $250 supports student meals for a full week of programming • $2,500 fully funds the replacement of our refrigerator You can also make your gift go further: • Many employers match donations, doubling the impact of your gift. Check with your HR department. • Consider a recurring monthly donation to provide ongoing support for our programs and kitchen operations. Together, we can turn this unexpected setback into an opportunity to strengthen our kitchen and continue empowering our community through food. Mark your calendar for May 5, or donate now, and join us in making a meaningful impact. Clink on link in our bio to donate. Thank you

Project Feast invites you to join us in celebrating the graduation of our current Culinary Skills Apprenticeship cohort. Enjoy delicious food prepared by our graduates, hear their inspiring stories, and learn how we empower immigrants and refugees through food and workforce development. Together, we’ll honor their hard work, uplift their voices, and strengthen the bonds that make our community vibrant. All are welcome, we can’t wait to celebrate with you! This event is free and open to all, and if you're able to give, your donation will help cover food costs and directly support our training participants — recognizing their time, talent, and delicious contributions to this gathering. Donations over $20 will also help provide essential tools, like chef’s knives, to empower our apprentices as they continue their culinary journey. Every bit of support helps us grow together. See link in our bio.

This week’s Family Meal brings a taste of Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷 Preorder: projectfeast.org/familymeal This month, our kitchen traveled to the Caribbean as we explored the vibrant and soulful flavors of Puerto Rico, a beautiful island territory of the United States with a rich and complex history. Puerto Rican cuisine reflects a blend of Taíno, Spanish, and African influences. It is a culinary story shaped by migration, resilience, and celebration. Puerto Rican culture is deeply rooted in family, music, and of course food. Cuisine plays a powerful role in preserving identity and strengthening community bonds. At Project Feast, every global menu strengthens culinary skills and builds cross-cultural understanding. Food is our classroom and every dish tells a story. We are excited to welcome our next cohort and share with them and you the cuisine of an important part of the United States. Our incoming students come from Afghanistan, China, Kenya, and Chad bringing with them their own rich culinary traditions and stories. Together, we will continue exploring how food connects us across cultures and continents. Thank you for being part of our community and supporting our students as they grow, cook, and share their cultures with pride.
