168 international constitutions include gender equality and now ours 📜 does too! Celebrating equality of rights under the law for 170 million women and girls and the LGBTQIA+ 🏳️🌈 community is a worthy celebration this year. JOIN US! Lawyers around the country are filing cases to challenge government sex discrimination at every level including city, states, counties, etc.
Equality advocates will continue their reviews of laws and legal policies at varying levels of government. Government officials will begin more formal internal reviews as well.
One archivist cannot obstruct the will of millions and multiple generations of people who have ratified the Equal Rights Amendment. There is no democracy without gender equality. Among democratic countries around the world, the United States is an outlier when it comes to guaranteeing rights for individuals based on sex or gender. This means that in America, women do not have the same protections under the law as men. Today, 85% of the 193 United Nations member states have a provision in their constitutions that specifically addresses gender equality, and an additional 115 have a provision that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex—yet America is not among these countries. We can’t wait to get a copy of the latest publication of the Constitution with the 28th Amendment!

Many states and the Trump admin have threatened reproductive healthcare, plan to role back Title IX protections and want to erode the rights of women and LGBTQ+ Americans. President Biden can take action right now to protect our lives, bodies, & rights from coming attacks. The ERA is a real tangible solution to protect our communities.

Then call (202) 456-1111 and text (302) 404-0880 him and ask that he instruct the National Archivist to publish the Equal Rights Amendment that has met the qualifications of Article V in the Constitution. We have to play offense and use the loopholes and power we have while we can!
