For the past few months, I’ve been collaborating with @edithcowanuniversity (Perth) to push the boundaries of what digital art can do when fused with architecture. The result is a massive-scale immersive installation unlike anything I’ve ever attempted. This video shows how the artwork completely redefines the space: from the 407-square-metre, four-storey indoor LED canvas (the largest in Australia) to the exterior façade wrapping the building. The campus is no longer just concrete, it’s a living story. So proud of this journey! Immense gratitude to the incredible team behind the magic: Digital Experiences Platform Lead: Jody Malam Curator: @debrastewardson - @hology.uk Agent: @eraa______ - @project22.art

We are all strangers in Time🌪️ We move through spaces thinking they are fixed.
But everything changes. Constantly. In Time is an exhibition by Project22, presented at Kanvas Dubai in collaboration with Leila Heller Gallery - bringing together the selection of works from The Wild Within by @ryan.koopmans & @alice.wexell , and Beirut Balconies by UAE-based artist @chaficmekawi In The Wild Within, architecture across the UAE and the Middle East is reclaimed by nature - growing, dissolving, reshaping what once felt permanent. In Beirut Balconies, Mekawi turns to Beirut - not as a place, but as memory. Fragmented, layered, constantly changing through experience. The exhibition unfolds as an immersive environment, narrated by the real voices of the artists.
You don’t just see the space - you move through its transformation. This is not about architecture.
This is about change - and what remains through it. 📍 Kanvas Dubai

If Beirut’s balconies could speak, what would they reveal about everyday life in the city? Kanvas Gallery presents In Time, an exhibition by @project22.art in collaboration with @leilahellergallery . Beirut Balconies explores the city through its most intimate architectural threshold: the balcony. Neither fully public nor fully private, these suspended spaces become quiet witnesses to everyday life, holding traces of presence, memory, and absence. Emerging from Chafic Mekawi’s experience growing up between Beirut and Dubai, the exhibition reflects on the fragmented way cities are remembered and emotionally inhabited. Blending physical and digital artworks, and an immersive journey, the exhibition becomes a visual tribute to the UAE and Lebanon through architecture, memory, and storytelling — narrated by the artists themselves. Featuring: @chaficmekawi — Beirut Balconies @ryan.koopmans & @alice.wexell — The Wild Within Curator: @eraa______ Art direction: @eegun_ Exhibition on view 19 May - 19 July 2026 Mon–Fri | 10 AM–5 PM

✨ We are thrilled to share a digital artwork by Kevin Varian, presented on the large-scale LED screen in the underground tunnel of Suzhou Center Mall, China ✨ Produced by Project22 in collaboration with InzLab, the work activates a public transit space through bold colour, character-driven visuals, and a continuous digital narrative that accompanies visitors as they move through the tunnel. Situated within an everyday urban passage, the artwork demonstrates how digital art can live beyond traditional exhibition formats, engaging audiences organically within the flow of the city. 📍 Suzhou Center Mall, Underground Tunnel

✨ History Encoded | Artist Spotlight ✨ Meet Eegun (b. 2001) — generative artist and Art Director of History Encoded. With his fresh and unique vision, Eegun brings the entire exhibition to life — weaving together eras, artists, and immersive storytelling into one cohesive journey. As an artist, his work explores the threshold between digital systems and natural forms. Using code, particles, and algorithmic movement, he reconstructs the essence of nature in digital space — not simulating reality, but evoking its rhythm, its absence, and its emotional resonance in contemporary life. For History Encoded, Eegun not only shapes the exhibition as Art Director but also presents his own generative piece for Era 7 (2022–Present: Immersive Realities & Digital Presence). His work embodies the spirit of this era — where immersive realities, digital identity, and human connection converge, creating art that feels alive, immediate, and profoundly present. ✨ History Encoded | Artist Spotlight ✨ Meet Sergey Prokofyev — a Berlin-based architect and filmmaker whose work merges spatial design with cinematic storytelling. With a background in architecture and immersive cinema, Sergey redefines architecture as more than construction: it becomes a medium for shaping human perception and collective presence. For History Encoded, Sergey presents Architecture of Presence — an immersive 360° film where abstract structures emerge, transform, and dissolve in a responsive digital environment. Blurring the line between physical and virtual, the piece invites viewers into a speculative architecture shaped by motion, time, and emotion. Through this work, Sergey reflects Era 7 (2022–Present: Immersive Realities & Digital Presence) — where immersive media transforms how we experience space, identity, and connection. His practice positions architecture as a living story, continuously evolving with technology and human imagination. Venue: @kanvas_dubai Curator/Creative Director: @eraa______ Art Director: @eegun_

✨ History Encoded | Artist Spotlight ✨ Meet Obvious — the Paris-based collective of Hugo Caselles-Dupré, Pierre Fautrel, and Gauthier Vernier, pioneers in bringing artificial intelligence into fine art. In 2018, their AI-generated Portrait of Edmond de Belamy sold at Christie’s New York for $432,500, marking a historic moment that propelled AI art into the global spotlight. Blending research and creativity, Obvious treat algorithms as collaborators—expanding what art can be in the age of machines. For History Encoded, Obvious present Be Water (2025), an immersive video installation created with their proprietary OnlyFlow movement-to-video algorithm. Projected across multiple walls, vapor, droplets, streams, and tides emerge not as literal depictions, but as evolving, AI-driven flows. Each surface is trained separately, yet together they create a seamless journey—echoing the endless transformations of water itself. Through this piece, Obvious reflect Era 6 (2015–2022) — when AI became both medium and collaborator, blurring the line between authorship, technology, and art. Be Water is not only an artwork, but a metaphor: an invitation to dissolve into rhythm, adaptability, and the invisible forces that connect us all.
