Well, it’s finally here… and it’s FINALLY time to catch all of you up on what I’ve been doing behind the scenes. Ryan Berman of @progresspedals and I have been talking for close to three years now, and throughout our daily conversations, the creation of the first “production” DAD250+ was brought up several times. What is the DAD250+? It’s a modern take on the legendary DOD250, adding both 9V and 18V power options. Topside you will find three clipping positions via a mini switch that allow you to swap between a silicon/germanium hybrid, traditional clipping (741 OPAMP) and LED/BAT asymmetrical. A “grizzle” knob had been added as a post-clipping low pass filter to roll off those piercing high ends… and to wrap it all up, there is a Thick/Tight internal switch that can add bass to the gain stage specifically! So how did @madebyanokie fit into all of this? The artwork! From hand drawn sketches on paper, to the nine different variants of the DAD250+ born in Adobe Illustrator, I designed all of the graphics featured on the enclosure. It was such an incredible process to play email tag with @cusackmusic and crew until we got it just right. I cannot thank them enough for bringing these into the real world. All the Dad Notes™️ are free of charge! The freshman release from @progresspedals is really fantastic. The DOD 250 is a classic, but this is a version that I’d actually put on my board. Great clean boost, great light OD, and great for pushing an amp into 80’s rock territory! The graphic work was done by my friend @madebyanokie who also designed my bird logo. The @polyeffects Trails is the coolest pedal I played @woodwirevolts this year, which is saying something. It’s so deep and has so many sounds that I can’t replicate with any other pedal, but this is my favorite mode - Meadows. Even with more involved melodies/chords it can sit behind your guitar nicely, but it can also be its own instrument. This is also the first time I’m showing off the @progresspedals DAD250+, which is the best DOD250 I’ve played.
