An evening of art, performance and recognition filled the Mexican American Cultural Center as El Paso’s creative community came together for ChangeMakers 2026: Borderland Women in the Arts. From live music and dance to exhibits and an art mercado, the event hosted by El Paso Matters and Progress321 honored 29 area women shaping the region’s cultural landscape. Among them was Rosa Ramirez Guerrero, who received a standing ovation for a lifetime of work in dance and education. Guest speaker Amanda Ekery reflected on the role of creativity in everyday life: “Art really is everywhere in the Borderland … it’s in the music that scores every memory of your life.” See the full photo gallery at elpasomatters.org 🔗 Tap the link in our bio. 📸 Liliana Chavez for ChangeMakers

Attendees joined us for a Tech Talk + Game Session exploring the world of software and game development. Led by Victor Talamantes, CEO of @binmatterstudio , in partnership with @progress_321 , the session offered a behind-the-scenes look at how games are built, from core development concepts to real-world application. With 20 attendees and a series of interactive mini-games, participants not only gained insight into development workflows but also experienced the process firsthand through @fiesta.livegame , a live multiplayer demo.
