On Friday 3/21/25 my scholars at @eostem_academy had the amazing opportunity to speak with one of my “forever“ students @professorraya and learn from her presentation titled, “How Did I Get Here.” It’s important that we connect our scholars with mentors who attended the same schools and lived in their community. We know that oftentimes you need to see it to believe it. Thank you Sorraya for sharing your story and your inspirational message. Here’s one of the takeaways from our time together. At our most recent Kappa League meeting, Emmy award winner, Sorraya Brashear-Evans, gave of her time to share her career path as a motion graphics designer and VFX compositor. She inspired many of our Kappa Leaguers to seek paths with which they were not previously aware.
This year at TCNJ has been nothing short of amazing! From mentoring an incredible MUSE project with Colgate-Palmolive, attending my first Convocation as a faculty member, and being able to share my work in faculty exhibitions and screenings, it’s been a year filled with milestones and gratitude. On top of that, I’m humbled and honored to share that I’ve been nominated for three Faculty Recognition Awards this year! And of course, there’s no better way to celebrate than having fun with my amazing students, here’s to even more memories! 🫶🏼📚

Here’s to new(ish) beginnings! This summer I said goodbye to Warner Bros. Discovery and transitioned from an adjunct to a full-time faculty member in the Design and Creative Technology at The College of New Jersey! As a proud alum of both the Interactive Multimedia & Journalism departments, it truly feels like coming home.💙💛🦁
