On Jan 1st 2020, I started working on a vector Wimmelbilder - a physically large and detailed artwork depicting one big scene scene comprised of much smaller scenes, like the work of Hogarth, Hieronymus Bosch, Geoff Darrow, or Where's Waldo. I planned a rough layout, divided it into a 20x20 grid, and using a random number list started publishing one completed tile at a time via this Instagram account. I expected the process would take just over a year - almost three and a half years after starting, I’m very happy to finally be finished. II will post a larger, scalable version of the full illustration at some point!
