Nothing short of a dream to say that my work is included in a book along with Jenny Saville, whose work I've admired and studied closely for decades now, as well as so many other artists I've followed closely who are also included in this book. To be placed in conversation with these artists is a highlight of my career so far. John Seed's latest book More Disruption: Representation in Flux is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and a poignant survey of painters from around the world dealing with contemporary issues within Realism and Representationalism. As one of the artists included, I got an advanced copy of the book, but it is available for preorder on Amazon and will be released end of October. If you love art books and contemporary painting, this is a must get!!! John Seed has an eye, and I'm so honored to be included. Artists: Megan Aline, Ben Ashton, Sarah Awad, Lee Balan, Alla Bartoschchuk, Casey Baugh, Shane Keisuke Berkery, Arcenio Martin Campos, José Luis Ceña Ruiz, Riso Chan, Aleah Chapin, Angela D’Ospina, Xavier Daniels, Andy Denzler, Michael Dorn, Teresa Dunn, Marilyn Durkin, Joshua Flint, Edwige Fouvry, Dean Fox, Ian Francis, Priya Green, Joshua Hagler, Gherdai Hassell, Bryan Ida, Marcus Jansen, Ruprecht von Kaufmann, Yongchul Kim, Kata Kukla, Lino Lago, Annie Lapin, Joseph Lee, Kathy Liao, Michal Lukasiewicz, Melinda Matyas, Johnny Morant, Justin Mortimer, Danielle Mužina, Nicole Sacks, Jenny Saville, Timothy Robert Smith, Caroline Westerhout, Darryl Westly, Anthony Peyton Young #contemporarypainting #artbooks #artcollector #jennysaville #johnseed #moredisruption #disruptedrealism #priyangreen

Had to rework this one again.... I've been noticing a lot of groups, lines and processions of people in my paintings. I like how the soft edges and blur turn the people into a single mass, the borders between them disappearing. Signs of life, signs of unity Cricket Team oil on canvas 30x40 inches

It’s been a while. The last time I posted was back in November—right as we were closing one chapter and stepping into another. Leaving Springfield, moving to Connecticut, carrying a vision that was clear in spirit… but slow and hard in the making. Truth is, it’s been a journey. This winter tested everything. Cold days, long nights, packing and unpacking… but real work was being laid down. I’ve got to give deep thanks to my brother Bobby DeGray, he showed up in the trenches and helped us push this thing into existence. That kind of support? You don’t forget it. And I’ve been reflecting a lot. On the Baustein Building studio in Holyoke, MA… the people… the energy. @Susannah Izzy, Matt, Christopher, and so many others—you all became family to me. That space shaped me in ways I’m still unpacking. I carry that with me. But there was always a deeper vision. Before the kids… before everything got full and fast—Priya and I used to work side by side, late into the night. Same rhythm. Same fire. That quiet understanding between two people chasing something bigger than themselves. I’ve missed that. And now—we’re back. Same space. Same dream. Just older, wiser, tested… and more grounded in purpose. God is good. You can feel it again—that subtle electricity. The ideas starting to breathe. The paint starting to move. The rhythm returning. It’s been a slow return… but it’s real. We’re building. We’re working. We’re keeping the brushes wet. And this time—we’re not stopping. More to come. Stay with me. Blessings and peace 🙏🏾 #AndraeGreen #AndraeGreenStudios #ArtistLife #ContemporaryArt #FigurativePainting StudioLife NewBeginnings CreativeJourney ArtistStudio BlackArtists PainterLife ArtCommunity ProcessOverPerfection KeepTheBrushesWet FaithAndArt GodIsGood FamilyAndArt CreativeProcess ArtInProgress StayTuned

After a trip to Iceland, I knew I had to make work in response to visiting the Einar Jonsson museum in Reykjavik. In this work, you'll see a faint hint of his statue entitled "Fate". This drawing was sitting around my studio for a while, and after moving to our current new studio space and getting organized, I knew this drawing needed one final touch. The new environment gave me some new perspective to complete it.... And now it's done! After Fate, 2026, charcoal, ink, pastel on paper, 18x24 inches
