It’s tricky being the odd one out. That this is something American model Pritika Swarup – who was one of only two Indian-origin girls in her class — is deeply aware of. She learnt to grow a thick skin, as in her industry, “There is so much rejection. It could be any little thing that wasn’t right. You’re too skinny, too fat, too tall, too short.” And even though the now 27-year-old felt her Indian aesthetic was not celebrated in America when she was growing up, she now feels that “beauty transcends boundaries. It’s about embracing who you are and celebrating unique qualities.” Tap the link in bio to read more from Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s October 2024 issue. @pritikaswarup Editor in Chief: @oliviaphillipsbazaar Photographer: @vladimirmarti Art Director: @paulsolomons.studio Styling: @anna_castan Jewellery: @bvlgari Dress: @giuseppedimorabito_official Hairstylist: @DiegoMiranda Make-Up Artist: @_raffaeleromagnoli Senior Producer: @steffhawker Words: @sujstyle From Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s October 2024 issue. #HarpersBazaarArabia #PritikaSwarup #PraktiBeauty

Honored to be included on WWD Beauty Inc’s 30 Under 30 alongside so many incredible women shaping the future of beauty and wellness. Building @praktibeauty has been a journey of challenges, risks, and growth, and it’s also where I’ve poured my heart and purpose. As someone who grew up between cultures, I’ve seen how a multicultural identity can become a source of strength, influencing how we create, connect, and tell stories. From fashion to entrepreneurship, so much of what inspires me comes from that intersection. Last week, I was honoured to join a conversation at the International Migration Review Forum, hosted by the President of the UN General Assembly and supported by the UN Network on Migration, led by @unmigration . I spoke about how migration shapes creativity, culture, and identity - and why that contribution deserves to be recognized, celebrated, and invested in. Migration is the movement of people, yes - but it is also the movement of ideas, traditions, and talent that shape the world we live in. It’s time we recognize and invest in that power. 🌎✨ #UNmigration #UnitedNations

Skin, to me, is a long game ✨ I approach it as an investment – strengthening it over time. I recently tried the XERF treatment with @DrMichelleHenry , designed to support skin structure and collagen rebuilding. It aligns with everything I believe in when it comes to skin health: balance, resilience, and investing early. #CynosureLutronicPartner #XERFandTell

This month marks 16 years with @operationsmile , and 8 years as a Global Ambassador 🌐 This work has been a constant in every chapter of my life. What began as volunteering after school became something that has shaped how I see the world - how I understand resilience, dignity, and what it truly means to show up for others. There are so many moments from these surgical programs that will stay with me forever - holding a mother’s hand and comforting her before her child’s surgery, carrying a child back into their family’s arms as tears turn into relief and joy, and witnessing the quiet strength of patients who have faced more than most of us can imagine. The people I’ve met on these programs have left an imprint on me in ways I can’t fully explain. Their strength, trust, and enduring hope - it shifts something in you. These experiences have grounded me in a deeper sense of gratitude and perspective. They’ve reminded me that giving back is what connects us to one another, and to what truly matters. So much of who I am today is because of this journey, and the patients and families who have allowed me to be a small part of their stories. I feel incredibly grateful to be part of this - to witness the impact on so many lives, and to carry these stories with me for life 💙

I’ve been building @praktibeauty since my senior year of college in 2020 with a kind of intensity I’m proud of - and if I’m honest, also the kind that can quietly consume you. It was always onto the next: creating, launching, pushing forward. 10 products. 5 retail partners. 18+ industry awards. A global community that continues to grow every day. So many moments I once dreamed of, now real. And alongside building Prakti, I was also navigating a full-time career in the fashion industry - traveling, shooting, and working closely with global brands I’ve grown with over the years - while staying deeply committed to the nonprofit work that’s always been core to who I am. Somewhere along the way, I realized I had started to equate constant motion with progress and exhaustion with success. Life has a way of gently (and sometimes not so gently) reminding you when something is out of alignment. For me, it was the realization that balance - something I’ve always believed in, something I speak about through Prakti - needed to become a true priority in my own life again, not just a philosophy. I’ve always found grounding in my daily rituals. But consistency is what transforms intention into something real. And that’s been the shift for me lately - choosing to show up for myself with the same discipline and care I’ve given to building my company. I’m deeply driven. Still building. Still dreaming bigger than ever. But I’m learning that the most powerful version of that drive comes from a place of balance, not burnout. And that changes everything 🫶🏽🫶🏽
