#GaroHills - '#Bitchi' (or #chubitchi) - a fermented rice wine born from '#wanti', a sacred yeast (fungus) starter passed through generations like an inheritance of invisible wisdom.🫁 Every time I watched them pour from the 'dikka' (these beautiful earthen pots) using an 'abet' (a dried gourd that's really just the perfect ladle), it felt like a complete ritual.💫 Beyond its ceremonial duties - warding off evil, welcoming travellers, and weaving through rites - these aspects of a living heritage became an unexpected learning. And for me, personally, to shed some ways of living and embrace what was right, in front of me.🌊 This painting is an offering to where #fungalalchemy and human connection ferment into a wide open space of possibilities. An #offering of remembrance, and of respect for all that it has provided for the community for millennia. And to really take on, the celebratory spirit of life, that the #Garos stand strong by. ❤️ It even makes me think, how many generations of hands have tended these invisible organisms, preserving not just a drink, but a bridge between worlds? Passed on, over and over and over again. Only gratitude 🙏🏻 #Meghalaya #ethnomycology Fungal Bitchi, 2025 Acrylic and inks on canvas

Four years of @nuvedo today. Feels like ten, tbh. But strangely, also feels like that name rolled off my lips just yesterday for the first time. "Nuuuuuu-vaaaid-oooooooo" 👄 "What do you think? Can you say it easily? What does it remind you of?" (A new look at an ancient being, the fungi) 🪞That growing child aside, today also happens to be #Mahashivratri - the night of #Tandava, Shiva’s dance of creation, preservation, and destruction. ✨One grand, ordeal. In work, in religion, in life, in nature: everywhere, large ordeals that we weave, in these cycles. Despite separating them, they always churn into that pattern. Big, silly, cycles. 🌠 Looking back, these 4 years have been exactly that - first, becoming; then, preserving; then, breaking apart what no longer fits; and now, becoming again. And honestly, seeing that unfold with not just Nuvedo, but who I am, has been humbling. 🍄 Letting go of archaic ideas, breaking down what doesn’t serve, embracing surreal shifts that one can never understand. But rebuilding, with more clarity, care and intention. 🪜 That’s what cycles teach us. That’s what fungi do. That’s what Tandava is. 👯‍♀️ ❤️To me, the sweetest dancing, happens on the edge of decay. ☠️ And, that’s what I’m sitting with today. ⚡⚡

"Enter the mycoverse",🌀 I couldn't find a more fitting first photo exposing this universe of wonder, with caps pirouetting on a vast abyss. ⛵#Fungi, inviting us all, to participate in that #inquiry. To participate in an #interspecies world. 🏳️‍🌈 They play hide and seek, but in reality, they are but a thriving network, ready to be plugged into. 💫 Notice how marasmiellus sp. can take up more space on a single twig, and support a much larger network that your eyes don't reach. 🌬️ In this whole ecosystem, there are no gatekeepers, and there are no barriers to understanding them. Then, who are we even waiting for? 🤔 Jump in, friends - the #mycelialwebs will hold you. 🕸️ They hold me everyday. ❤️ #mushrooms #mycelialway #mycelium #gratitude

Coquimbo, Chile. People hand you something beyond a word, a mushroom, a mission, a silence, a layer of clothing so you can cocoon in a place you arrived at because mycelium, is always playing some crazy tricks on you. I was murmuring under my breath as I reached, "the sea is the same everywhere. the lichen, the fungal "vibes". The night sky, the textures of nomadic earth." I hear loudly, bonitooooooo, beautifuuuul, the way everything rhymes if you look sideways at it. And my way of finding the sameness made possible through the song like words of wild valiant women. But then someone is talking about what the world is doing to itself, and someone else is talking about what we do next, and the conversation goes so deep into where to make this happen, how to see. Radical care. Traditional knowledge. The living world handing you things one by one. The poets, the rebels, the artists telling you constantly, challenge. Adelante. Onwards. And now I'm back in India, sitting with this new spanish vocabulary, turning it over, what's the parallel thought, what's the same current running underneath over here? And suddenly I hear it, cachai? Get it? we're all collecting and crouching over dead crustaceans and I'm reaching for the last bit of ceviche, salt and lime and the cold Humboldt shaking everything, and I am assimilating, assimilating, assimilating.... ✊for flora fauna funga.

Last December, we came together to create a How To Live Like A Fungus zine for the Justice Makers Mela for (@agami_in ) a small offering toward imagining a world rooted in justice across all beings. In an unjust world, we commit to learning, to unlearning, to staying awake to the possibility of new ways of being. A world where humans and non-human life are held with softness, dignity, and care. 🟣A world where funga teaches us interdependence, repair, reciprocity, and the quiet intelligence of living together. 🍄 This zine is not an ending. It is alive. It will continue to evolve as part of a larger landscape of collective understanding, growing, and reimagining with funga. If this vision resonates with you, scan the last page to download the full zine and journey deeper with us. ❤️ #FungalEthics #JusticeMakersMela #MoreThanHuman #Funga #EcologicalJustice Interdependence ZineCulture CareAcrossSpecies SoftnessAndDignity Illustration: @prithvikini

What if nothing in life exists alone? Throwing it back to Letters to the Living World - a room for reflection, writing, and a deeper look at how connected we really are. Through curiosity, sensory exploration, and shared presence, we slowed down enough to notice the quiet threads between self, nature, and each other. With reishi tea and letter-writing, we made space to reflect on coexistence, care, and what it means to belong to a living world. To the self. To the earth. To what wants to grow. A gentle reminder that connection is everywhere, if we know how to notice it. In collaboration with @nuvedo Venue partner: @beku.blr #LettersToTheLivingWorld #TheDrawingRoomClub #bengaluruevents

the year so far in photos, of all that comes between the moments, of gumption, of confusion, of laughter and sadness • myco-gilled projection aesthetics • incessant tea rooms • laughter of an old kind • a new relationship with lion’s mane • preparing limbs for the apocalypse • sunset martial arts (attempted) • softest vows • mycelium-digested sorrows of ’25 • new dimensions into the mycoverse • remembering the first flushes • a kannada movie moment • ballooned children at midnight • new devotions with pilgrims • cortisol spikes for marathons • visioning community as we age • upkeep: grandmothers’ Naga • India’s mushroom revolution, lights lamps • and finally, my only ruler, my boss, and wildest love 🎩🫂 #mycelialmind #gratitude

Introducing “What the World Throws Away, Fungi Learn to Eat” – Our Second Exhibit in the Fungal Living Systems Series at The Sixth Sense Festival as Official Fungi Partners. What we discard as waste, fungi often recognise as opportunity. This exhibit explores mycoremediation—the ability of certain fungi to break down complex materials through powerful extracellular enzymes. Inside these jars are substrates that reflect our everyday waste streams: cigarette butts, discarded denim, electronics, and food residues. Each is inoculated with mycelium and left under controlled conditions, where colonisation and degradation slowly unfold over time. Fungi do not see waste the way we do. By sensing chemical complexity and environmental stress, mycelium adapts—altering enzyme production to metabolise materials we often assume are permanent. These jars are not symbolic. The materials inside mirror their real-world abundance, offering a glimpse into a quieter form of repair: one that works slowly, persistently, and often out of sight. Part of our ongoing Fungal Living Systems series, this exhibit invites visitors to witness how fungi adapt to the world we have built—and what that might mean for the future of remediation. At Nuvedo, we’re exploring ways to bring the hidden lives of fungi into public imagination through science, art, and immersive learning experiences. Excited to collaborate with @thegreenersidebyechoes and @thesixthsense.in to share the story of fungi with a wider audience. #FungalLivingSystems #Mycoremediation #Mycology #Fungi #Nuvedo SixthSense

As part of the @thesixthsense.in visual artist @cursorama invited us at Nuvedo to collaborate on a living centrepiece for The Mycelium Imagination. 👁️ The madness began with a conversation - about networks, pathways, and how mycelium senses and responds to the world. As we spoke about the future of decay, adaptation, survival, and the intelligence of this system, a phrase emerged: Mycelium Punk. 🛸 We created 4 living mycelium artefacts, placed at the centre of the visuals - living systems in process, breathing inside a world where the mycelium was already awake. Imagine a civilisation where nothing is buried or really forgotten. Where our waste is now a body of infrastructure. Where the fungi feed the living not as metaphor but as literal network - roots of white thread pulling nutrients, signals, memory across kilometres of dark soil. No hierarchy. Just adaptation. Just connection. A system that has been problem-solving longer than we have had problems. 1 - decay 0 - life (...and it goes) And between the living artefacts and Cursorama's underground was visual artist @raul_sharma94 Isometric Fields — mutations and algorithm, between signal and deformed stucture, he created new worlds. Languages emerged with mycelial punk that needed no prior knowledge at all. 🍄Immersed in sound by @folicstate , we say, step closer, fungi are everywhere. ◾ Artefacts by @jashid.hameed , @prithvikini Mycelium cultivated by @suresh.sonu.146 , @_chillmonger_ @rs6324846 , Sona Chakma #MyceliumImagination #MyceliumPunk #SixthSenseFestival #Cursorama #Nuvedo LivingSystems FungalFutures BioDesign ArtScience FutureEcologies

I used to think grief had to burn. You know the whole, throw it in the fire and it's gone. ⚡ Too neat, honestly. Too easy. Then fungi happened: try decay instead, decompose, transform. So in December, we gathered and this sweet woman asked, "What are we even doing?" "Putting all our sh*t in a bag so my beloved Pleurotus sp. can eat" I said. Heartaches, annoyances, misfortunes, the weight we'd been carrying. We gave it all to mycelium.🧩 By January 2026, mushrooooooooms. Fluffy fellows sprouting from our mess that is us humans, and a thing we mismanage - emotions. "This is stunning, it just grows from anything," my friend said, this weekend holding one up. 🫂I've done versions of this with lovers, friends, family now. A safe place. A matchbox. A mycelium block. The container changes, but the question's the same: what if we made space for what we can't hold to become something else? What happens when we stop trying to purify pain and just let it rot?

When something disrupts our plans, we call it a problem. In the larger system, it might be doing exactly what it’s meant to do. A play in many parallel acts! #workingwithallfungi

A beautiful collaboration unfolded at this year’s Indian Cacao & Craft Chocolate Festival @indiancraftchocolatefestival at @sabhablr . Prithvi, guided an intimate cacao ceremony, blending Raw Cacao from @varanashiorganicfarms combined with @nuvedo Reishi Mushroom Dual Extract. 🙏🏽 ⭕The circle came alive as cacao's theobromine and anandamide opened hearts with gentle mood elevation, perfectly balanced by Reishi's deep stress-relieving calm. Folks shared they felt "grounded and happy", sparking real conversations. 🍫A ceremony to decay 2025, and make space for this year. Cacao and fungi connect through fermentation yeasts that unlock flavors, ancient Mesoamerican rituals pairing them in ceremony, and cacao's fats enhancing mushroom bioactive absorption. 🧩A synergy that creates absolute beauty! Gratitude to @__ketakii , Indian Cacao & Craft Chocolate Festival team for fostering this space of craftsmanship and community. Here's to more shared journeys! 🍫🍄✨ #Nuvedo #CacaoCeremony #IndianCacaoFestival #Reishi #FunctionalMushrooms WellnessSynergy
