Two years ago, on this day — 19th November 2023 — I stepped into one of the most thrilling journeys of my life: making my first feature film, Bun Tikki.
A love letter to childhood, to every parent and child, and to everyone who chooses love, in all its forms.
Cinema has always been the thing that moves me, heals me, and gives me purpose. I’ve always believed that films can transform us — they can console, spark joy, teach us forgiveness, remind us that kindness is a superpower, that empathy is the need of the hour, and that unconditional love always wins. I’m grateful that Bun Tikki is the film that begins my journey as a motion picture director — it’s a piece of my soul. I’ve poured all my love into it.
Films like Bun Tikki are rare — they champion love, not hate. And for that, I’ll forever be grateful to
@manishmalhotra05 , who believed in it from the very first moment. I still remember our first meeting. We shook hands, and he said, “Faraz, I’m going to make Bun Tikki — even if I have to put in my own money. This film needs to be made.” And that’s when Bun Tikki truly began to breathe.
