Our next Paper Playground: Zine making night is at @orpheumcommunityhub on Monday March 16th from 6-7:30pm 🌈 Bring your own project, start a new one, come learn new types of single sheet folds, collaborate with others, or throw on headphones so you can focus up and finally knock out that zine you've been meaning to wrap up for way too long. 👊 -- Snacks, paper, and general art supplies provided. (You're welcome to bring your own supplies too ofc!) Zine swapping and additions to the free zine table are welcomed. 🐿 -- The Orpheum is located on the corner of Coal & 2nd Street downtown. Entrance and parking is in the rear of the building, facing the rail road tracks. Alvarado Transportation is a couple blocks away. 🚄🚴‍♀️

Warm weather is back and so are nitro cold brews! 🎉 Starting next weekend, stop in to grab a delicious, dark roasted nitro coffee topped with a sweetened cold foam to sip on while you soak up the sunshine and good vibes in Old Town. ☀️

Got to visit @juliannakirwin 's studio last weekend, which was such a treat!🌻Julianna & the @herstoryprintmaking collective will be leading a print making workshop "Faces of Good Trouble" on March 28th from 1-4pm at the Albuquerque Museum, right next door to us. She also does workshops out of her studio space (that you should definitely check out). We're so lucky to have incredible print makers like her in our area to learn from. 🙌

One of our favorite drinks on the winter menu has been the Piloncillo Mocha, made with fresh dark chocolate + a shot of house made piloncillo syrup. Its rich, creamy, and even better with the toasted cinnamon and red chile spice blend mixed in. 🌶☕️

✂️ Paper Playground ✂️ Low-key, lo-fi, and no‐cost zine making nights start March 2nd at the @orpheumcommunityhub 6-7:30pm. Whether you have a slew of half baked zine projects you need to piece together, or you want to throw yourself into zine making for the first time, this space is for you! We support DIY culture but think DIWC (Doing It With Community) is really where its at. We'll have supplies, folding templates, prompts, snacks + drinks, zines to take, and room to stretch out. There will not be an individual instructor leading the meet ups, but there will be a space full of supportive people to bounce ideas off of and share tools with. Different working styles are welcome. 🎧 🖌🧵🕺 -- Paper Playground will meet every other week, starting at The Orpheum, located on the corner of Coal & 2nd St downtown. 🚎🚈 The Alvarado Transportation Center is two blocks away (est 6min walk). 🚗 Parking can be found in a fenced in lot in the back of the building. Masks encouraged. Reach out to us if you have any questions, supplies you'd like to share, or are interested in hosting future meetups @printboundpress & @halfmoonzines

When we started putting together the shop in July we weren't sure what to do with the big blank space above the bar. For years I've seen the massive Mesoamérica Resiste print by @beehivedesigncollective hanging over the dining room at our friends house. It's always felt so special, as its been the back drop to many important conversations and moments, but it had never really struck me that we could have a piece of Beehive's work to hang in our own space. The Mesoamérica prints were sold out but @justseeds had 'The True Cost of Coal' posters available still, which we were thrilled to find (and I guess we couldnt copy our friends entirely, right?). So now we have a piece of home here. A reminder of all the beautiful people in our lives building a better world. 🐝 ↪️ swipe to see a couple of close ups of the print, or better yet, come see all its expansive details in person.

Things have been moving so fast! ⚡️ We started planning for our little coffee stand back in January, spent several months building it out, making our menu, and getting all our ducks in a row. We officially opened at the Rail Yards Market at the beginning of May and spent two months at @606__studio , expanding our zine library, before landing at our new shop in the heart of Old Town, and we couldn't be more excited. We'll be adding lots more zines to our shelves over the next several weeks and have more announcements to make soon. Thank yall for all the support, and we hope to see you at the new spot soon! 📍400 San Felipe St NW C1, Albuquerque We're open: Thu. 11a-5p Fri. 11a-8p Sat. 11a-8p & Sun. are at the @railyardsmarket.abq from 10a-2p as always ✌️
