Moon Goddess Series • Waning Crescent 🌙 Waning Crescent by Kymberly Krogh Morning breaks with a soft, glowing light Selena’s power fades, as does the night. Each evening darkens with the crescent’s wane, And she prepares for her ending, awaits the pain. She rests on the shore with her sister, Goddess of the Sun, Two symbols of earth’s orbit, mourning as one. Sun breaks through the trees, yellow light meets blue. Selena’s cycle ending, as all things do. She rests with her head in her sister’s hands, Body resting in the coolness of morning sand. Arriving in the darkness of a moonless night, She slips into the shadows, out of sight. Her first evening comes with little power, She must bloom in time, same as the flowers. Strength waxing each dusk as the stars wink to life, Selena, goddess of the moon, roves her fief. Learning and awaiting her power’s full height, She reigns in the darkness, ruler of night. 🌑 The absolute JOY it is to finally begin sharing this story with the world! The Moon Goddess series has been a dream brought to life. What began with my love of @faeriemagazine and the hope of being published one day (still holding out hope!) grew into something I could share with Kymberly. Our little faerie souls latched on and never let go. I am eternally grateful for her encouragement, her challenges, and her wordy brilliance that gave voice to this vision.
