My song Plastique was featured in the film ‘Mercy’ as music that cool high school kids were getting high to and honestly I can’t think of a better compliment!
It’s so fun to see a song win that @mattparad and I first wrote over zoom 😷 in 2021. The verse always hit so hard to me but the pre and chorus just wasn’t it, so we revisited in Feb 2023 and I’m so glad we did because this ended up being my favorite song I’ve ever released.
Ironically it was also the song I wrote without any outside influence of an audience or consideration of making money during the creation. Funny how questions like What do I like? & What do I prefer? can feel radical in a landscape of artists trying to survive. Avoiding making something with “syncability” in mind actually found its way into the #1 movie in America haha. Go figure
