general idea in use by @specific___ideas . they (books) is a series of three 2-color risograph prints featuring invented idioms about artist books. they are written loosely based on the myriad ways that artists describe books in art rite no. 14 (1976), an issue devoted to the artist book. one of those descriptions is from lawrence weiner, whose work serves as the inspiration for the typographic treatment of these prints. they are an homage to the late artist, made shortly after he passed in december of 2021. 2-color risograph on cardstock; 8.5 × 11 inches, one-sided print, each an edition of 50. cc: @adamswiftlucas
