Welcome to Pretty Torn!
👚 We’re a hybrid retail store and sewing studio that specializes in upcycled and sustainable small batch clothing. We have ready made clothing in the store, but can also make custom pieces just for you!
🪡 We offer alterations and mending services to prolong the life of the clothing you already have. If you buy a piece from another shop in the building, we offer a special discounted price for whatever services you need to get it fit to you.

✸ Let’s Talk About Made in USA ✸
In the ever-more-difficult search for the most ethical way to shop for clothing I often hear “Made in USA” offered as a gospel solution, but that really doesn’t mean what if used to. Listen to why that isn’t the end all you may think it is.
✥ Shop secondhand, vintage, and upcycled when you can! There are so many options, and they’ll usually be better quality than what you can buy new for the same price. Sizing can be a barrier, but it’s all about each person doing what they can.
✥ Take care of what you have! Utilize your local tailor for alterations and repairs. So many garments stop being worn because of easily repairable flaws. A trip to the tailor, cobbler, or learning to sew yourself is cheaper than buying new.
✥ When shopping new, be discerning! Check for transparency in labor practices and supply chain. Support the small businesses and independent makers doing things right.
