I’ve been reacquainted with an old friend…
Until now, all of our handprinted greeting cards have been individually hand inked and printed on a galley proofing press. Our handprinted cards, especially our Greetings From…’ cards are very popular so I spend a lot of time printing this way.
A long time ago I bought a Josiah Wade ARAB Platen Printing Press on EBay and had it in my studio in Hackney Wick looking very pretty in the corner, I wasn’t printing cards back then so didn’t invest the time learning how to operate it.
Our studio relocation to the end of our garden meant that the Arab press was kindly offered a loving new home with my Dace Road neighbours @londonbookarts where for the last six years it has been used, appreciated and looked after beautifully by @simongoode
A recent move into a bigger studio @makersyardsomerset has afforded us the space to most gratefully repossess the Arab. It looks beautiful in our studio and I’m really enjoying printing on it.
