Logo and identity for The Unibrow.
A favourite project from the last year.
I spent a large part of my career designing and art directing magazines, so when I spoke with
@epricco_ about creating the branding for his new title, The Unibrow, I was happy to return to a medium I’ve always loved.
As a longtime fan of
@juxtapozmag —where Evan served as Editor for many years—I was excited by the chance to be a part of something that might one day inspire a new generation in the same way Juxtapoz inspired me.
The brief was to design a logo for a new art-world title that bridges high- and low-brow aesthetics.
The concept: there is no logo, just a black rectangle.
The idea of a magazine having no visible name but instead something far more recognisable and at the same time radical, felt irresistible. It’s literally a simplified unibrow but also a commentary on censorship, punk/diy culture and minimal, austere luxury.
@the__unibrow Issue 1 out now. Issue 2 about to drop.
Thanks
@epricco_ ,
@nisanperera , and
@kiminkie for the opportunity, trust and fun journey.
