Last November and December, I traveled to Indonesia to explore my family history. Along the way, I met @billyboogeyman and @nadyakusuma by chance in Bandung. We spoke about music, art, and the challenges of self-expression in a collective society.
Out of our conversations, a collaboration grew — creating images that embrace imperfection, emotion, and the in-between spaces where rawness meets reflection.
The full Indonesia project is still unfolding, and I’m grateful to be exploring it through photography.
Something I thought was funny, Billy’s favourite song was ‘Make it happen’ from @tramhaus.rtm
All images are shot on my mamiya 67 with in-camera experiments.
Presskit for @sbs_simon
Had much fun pushing the boundaries of my Mamiya 67 and playing in and around the studio together.
We connect very much about being autodidact in our own fields, and figuring out our authentic selves. We wanted to capture this feeling of frustration to light fulfilment.
Around the concept ‘evolving’ we found inspiration in dark gritty looks with high grains, light spills, distorted lenses to nostalgic misty light feels.
Also big thanks to @mattijswentinck that helped me on set!
Here a selection of photos from the light installation during the @losanglescollective weekender in @garagenoord created by @semallush
Sem Allush is a Dutch-Palestinian multidisciplinary artist based in Amsterdam. This work, part of an ongoing research project, explores the multisensory interplay of light and music, transforming nightclubs into immersive spaces where sensory boundaries dissolve. Inspired by dendritic structures in the brain, this work creates an externalised nervous system, translating sound into light and motion.
The full album will be soon posted on my website!
A few days ago, I met @billyboogeyman and @nadyakusuma through a mutual friend. We quickly clicked over shared interests in music, world views, and a lot more, and decided we wanted to create something together.

Nadya and Billy run their own model agency (@cold.models ) here in Bandung, born out of their frustration with the toxic side of the fashion and modeling industry in Indonesia. It’s inspiring to see them reshape the scene with integrity, kindness and love!

Looking forward to developing and scanning these frames soon.
Much fun creating the press kit for @nakanoblu in the studio!

Pablo had his plan, but he also wanted to play. We worked intuitively with different cameras. Love it to receive freedom like this!

The scarf, designed by @a.meekel , explores the emotional divide between urban and rural life, using a thistle motif to symbolize resilience, protection, and reconnection with nature and family. And is produced at @knitwearlab
